Visited a few months ago. Coffee and food were fine. And I had friendly service. But I did observe a female (older) server being quite rude and disrespectful to another customer. I assume these people may be volunteers but if you can't make an attempt to be pleasant to EVERYONE then please volunteer your time where you do not interact with potentially vulnerable people.
Update....went again yesterday. Had a coffee and full cooked breakfast. $14 plus $4(coffee) so not a bad price for Auckland. Service was friendly and efficient. Coffee was good. Breakfast not so much. Had asked for eggs to be fried and flipped over so they are cooked right through. They weren't and were still runny. Bacon was good and crispy like I requested, toast was good and it was good bread. There was a large half tomato grilled and a pre-cooked sausage of the type you'd get on super special at the supermarket. And it was cold in the middle. The cafe itself had quite a few loud characters/customers in at the time. So it was definitely not a peaceful breakfast.
So the full cooked breakfast would barely rate a 2/5, the coffee a firm 4/5 and the service a 5/5. The environment and ambiance a 2/5.
I do realise the cafe itself supports a worthy cause. So chose i not to complain about my breakfast. But maybe I should have made the effort to offer a little...

I help myself to 2 pieces of buttered bread and condiment sachets, then head to a table setting armed with cutlery. After lunch we take coffee in the outside garden area that has seating aplenty. Great value for $6! Will definitely go...
