I attempted to order two small roast chicken meals, and the restaurant could only provide one chicken meal as it was near the end of their day. When I requested a small chicken meal, the lady abruptly stated that they only had a medium-sized meal portion left. I was about to replace one order with beef, but was interrupted and told I could only buy the medium-sized chicken meal. The usual takeaway roast-about-town is normally a bit of a sad affair but Mac Roast is the best I've had by far. Everything is cooked perfectly - crispy potatoes, soft kumara and pumpkin, fresh carrots and peas to top it off. It feels as if the meal has been made with care - tender meat and very tasty gravy. As James says below, the owners are genuinely lovely people, welcoming and friendly. The meals are are step up from the usual roast-in-a-bun options at most other places with a generous belong of deliciously cooked meat in a decent sized crusty baguette.
