Overall was not impressed by this stay and I’ll be unlikely to recommend it to anyone other than business travellers who are just looking for a night to stay and sleep with the general amenities of a hotel. It was just average or below, there was no part of the hotel staycation experience that stood out. There was a couple of staff members that displayed exceptional hospitality standards, who assisted with a couple of requests such as drinks been brought to the table but that was it.
The club Lounge- I do not believe is worth the extra money to purchase an executive room. Basic restock of cutlery plates and cups not accessible enough in both Lounge and Restaurant. No hot meals available in club lounge and basic drinks provided.
Simple things could improve the experience such as coat hooks in a disabled toilet or any of the main reception toilets on the back of the door to me is a basic requirement.
Effective communication between the reception and the Restaurant could be improved in terms of individual items on the bill for dining and acknowledging where discount has been applied under Accor plus membership.
The check in and checkout process is too long -as per usual commentary- not enough staff. There does not seem to be much attention given to people who have purchased the Accor membership.
The hotel spa area with the pool, sauna, steam room is good. However, there is not enough seating around the pool. The bathroom area was a plus! Clean and tidy and many shower cubicles with amenities, hair straighteners available.
The pool is quite deep so parents do need to make sure that their supervision is prioritised. Not a complaint just a heads up.
Be very mindful of using the app for the Wilson car park- park mate as when selecting the weekend rate which is the cover for a 24 Hour period. It does not apply the actual entry time and therefore we received an $85 ticket for both our vehicles.
The rooms are not soundproof, but it was really nice to have a room with the bathtub as this is usually the main reason why I will book a room at a hotel for a family staycation.
The suite room very nice and spacious but does not come with an alarm clock. Carpets very nice and plush.
The gnocchi, blue cheese, pistachio dish at the restaurant is an absolute embarrassment. Shouldn’t even be present on the menu when they are deep frying/air frying the gnocchi not worth the money whatsoever. The wording on the menu needs a review as suggests something authentic and the same with the chicken, chips and gravy dish. The gravy is just a smeared paste on the kids menu. They didn’t receive the feedback well I had to request for the refund on checkout even though I took it back to the Restaurant, nobody came and spoke to us after to see how they could rectify the issue.
We stay regularly at many hotels across Auckland and good customer service is always what makes the difference between a satisfied stay and unfortunately the customer service was not enough compensation for the expectation of this trip.
The other thing that was very apparent was that the event bookings for the Restaurant are prioritised over other guests. When trying to move tables around they do so in front of the bar which is where we were sitting as there was no space in the restaurant. Simple communication could’ve improved this asking us if we would like to move into the restaurant now that the event was over or questioning whether we minded that they were moving tables and obstructing view.
Not in a hurry to visit again would like to try another Accor hotel soon to compare the expectation of Accor plus Membership. At the moment we are not experiencing good customer service and management from Accor group. They beg you to sign up with all the so called extra benefits but sadly don’t...
Read moreIt's all good except I think it is stupid that parking is separate from hotel! It on the same property. Confusion and no access to carpark after 10pm. What about human error and checked in and actually unpacked after dinner at restaurant. Finding you forgot something still in car needed before sleep. It is just after 10pm and what you have to walk the whole carpark to access your car as access doors and lifts are stopped and unusable after 10pm. I had issue when i chose to park myself instead of valet service. So I guess you have to pay for valet service and there be no issues. If you park your own car you have to pay for your park there and then!!! I parked my car and not even half an hour later I got ticket!!! I parked car around 10: 40 pm and got a fine for it just after 11pm, So just after 20min of parking I get ticket! I was locked out of going into hotel so had to walk the levels of carpark. I saw and spoke to the parking wardens before they ticket my car! I asked them how can I get out as I am guest at hotel and they just said keep walking up the levels to front of hotel. Nightmare parking!!! No gym ready but on last day I walked past a conference room with the door open a bit and see gym equipment. Wow I had not known! Was not told! Had to get key recut 3 times. Asked for a virgin Pina Colada and the staff at bar told me to wait till real bartender starts his shift which was only minutes away. I order the drink and was served milk with pineapple. Well I enjoyed Virgin Pina Coladas at other hotels like the movenpick myth and cruise ship NCL ... now this was the worst drink I had and got charged 12 dollars for milk and pineapple with ice. Wow ... the shower missing rubber seal which I noticed after as steeped into flooded floor. Knew to avoid shower water hitting door after that. I had no do not disturb card on door handle but when at desk inquiring why my room was serviced when I had not pressed the switch. I was told I just need to put do not disturb card on door handle on front. No sign! Just breakfast order ... I pressed the do not disturb button after that. Happy to use same sheet and towels for 3 days. I had stuff out in my room not expecting a service that first day. The breakfast was awesome and chef Johhny is cool as. Yummy ommlette and the food is really good here. The jacuzzi was broken so no bubbles. The sauna is really good. Added water with ladle and enjoyed the heat. Pool is slightly warm so really enjoyed that too. Can clearly see gym under construction. If I knew there was gym equipment in a conference room I be doing reps. But alas I went to a random one in city using scooter hire. Had to pay high casual price to use gym in city! So overall apart from parking issues and being stuck down in basement level 3 carpark after 10pm and not knowing there was actually a temp gym in comfrence room. The drink that was the yuckiest and dumbest ever. VIRGIN Pina Coladas are way better than that! Ignoring all that. My room had awesome balcony , staff are always ever trying to help and understand you. I was just navigating new changes since last stay. I do enjoy and love Pullman yet this time was unable to completely relax as the drink very undesirable from an actual bar tender. And the flooding. And the parking. Unable to access car after 10pm is strange as.being a guest and need to allow for human error like meds in glove box and remembering at bedtime when your meant to take them, what happens then? You have to walk into carpark for entrance and navigate the levels to get to car and some all the way back. That needs readressing please! All Accor is the best hotel chain in the world and as far as I can see they will keep getting better by acknowledging all guests as royalty....
Read moreStayed here for four nights for a conference checked in 2am Tuesday and checked out Friday morning. Quite underwhelmed by the service and food selection and quality. I thought this was meant to be a premium hotel. Here some things that really need improving:||Location:|Nice area, not far from main part of CBD - very walkable if you don't mind very steep hills, but retail/convenience stores/restaurants are not super-close. Elderly or disabled people would need to order transport.||Superior King Room:|Not sure what is superior about it. Bathroom kit was very minimal (eg no toothbrush or sewing kit). Bathroom itself was awkward and small. |Shower/bath was hard to get in and out of because its cramped and the fixed screen made it hard to reach in to turn on the taps.|The chair at the small desk was a uncomfortable fixed chair - not an ergonomic office style chair like a lot of hotels offer these days - meaning if you have to work from your hotel room, you will get a sore back and shoulders. |Bed was ok and the room itself was pretty quiet. Two small windows were able to be opened for fresh air, which is good.||Room Service:|Three times out of four when I rang Room Service they failed to pick up or call back. The first night, when they failed to answer, I rang the Front Desk and they patched me to the Restaurant and I ordered, but they only sent up part of the order (forgot the juice I ordered). The beef burger was super salty and really quite sad. Second day I managed to get through and ordered a pizza.. nothing special. 3rd night I couldn't get through so gave up. The menu itself is quite limited also.||Minibar: Only three snacks available and they weren't replenished at all during my stay.||Housekeeping:|Came quite late in the day and on the first day they took the used floor towel away and didn't replace it. The bathroom kit itself also wasn't replenished. ||Breakfast:|Had the full breakfast on the first day. It was ok I guess, but nothing spectacular. At least they had a fruit/vegie juicer station and the ordered coffee was good.||On the plus side:|11am checkout|The pool/gym apparently is good though I didn't have time to use it.|Wifi is fast enough to work on if you are an Accor member, but it's the type that doesn't have a password and requires a splash screen web browser login - so I am not convinced it's particularly secure. Recommend using an encrypted VPN.|Not far from main part of CBD - very walkable if you don't mind steep hills.||Price:|I paid AUD$904 for four nights (not including breakfast) which they charged on check-in. Do I think this was value for money? Maybe if they had got the service right and the food was better, but to me it seems a bit steep for mid-tier service levels and a pretty basic room.||Overall:|I think there are better options in Auckland...
