I'm so sorry I didn't leave this one star review earlier, I was just thinking about this and and felt like I need to tell of my bad experience here, I was a student it 2023, second worst customer service I've had in my life...I was studying with my friend and I asked if I could get a glass of water, she said it was for customers only, so I bought a piece of very dry banana cake, took a cup and handed it to my friend, while I drank from my own water bottle, she got mad. How sour, how bitter, she seems like she hates the earth and all the people on it. So get this, $5 for a piece of dry cake entitled me to a single glass of water, which I can drink, but I may not hand that glass to my friend. Would you feel better if I handed the $5 to my friend and he was the one that passed it to you? You still get $5 and we still get one glass, what is wrong with you Karen? Do you just hate customers, that is a great way to grow your business, I outsmarted you by giving you money, and you still got mad, I'm not giving you money ever again. I don't have an issue with paying, that is fair, but you have an issue with being nice, so I can't do business with you again, it's nice not knowing you. I hope you get better 😊
Eddit: thanks for your reply, the thing is, I've just been looking at some of the other reviews, and I can see others have had the same or similar experience with your staff, it seems like poor customer service and a hostile attitude is still something going on 2+ years later. I think you should get some different staff, or figure out what is going on, instead of ignoring it, which is how it seems to me Almost 10% of your reviews are 1⭐, you have more 1s than 2s and more 2s that threes , the shape of the curve...
Read moreA sunny cafe, open plan, with well-spaced tables and lots of light: a key attraction for me.
There's a small glass cabinet of the usual--wraps, sandwiches, etc.--and a small menu for fresh cooked food.
A small range of nice teas and at least you get a pot with leaves, rather than the usual teabag floating in warm water. Like most Auckland cafes, though, it's mainly concerned with coffee (others need to review that).
Staff are OK. Polite and know their stuff but no real engagement and some have somewhat limited English which can lead to some confusion.
Service is quite slow around lunchtime, which is frustrating if you have limited time.
They do not accept cash, which is irritating and, for some, may mean going to the big American corporation cafe next door.
Overall, it's a good meeting or light-lunch place if you're in the area, no rush to get you out and generally not to noisy. My preferred place in this part...
Read moreI've been a regular at this cafe for a while now, and it continues to impress. The staff are friendly, personable, and always professional. It's the kind of place where being a regular feels genuinely appreciated. The cabinet food is my usual go to, always fresh and tasty. I particularly enjoy the beef pide and toasted banana loaf, but the cooked menu holds up just as well. Coffee is consistently enjoyable, which is something I value. The atmosphere is a good balance of enough background conversation to feel lively, but not too noisy to chat or get work done. The interior is clean and attractive, highly recommended for both catching up with others or solo work over a coffee. Particular shout out to the front of house staff, as it can get quite busy here at peak times but they work together like a well...
