I absolutely loved this place. And to me this is one of the best places in Lagos as far as fine dining is concerned. Let me narrate my experience. My friend took me to lunch here and I didn't know what to have. Their menu was very interesting so this made it very confusing to choose. My friend wanted lamb chops which she had looked forward to having, so I thought to try something else for variety. I then asked the server for recommendations. She recommended their Oxtail with a side serving of rice. For drinks I wanted something sweet and fruitywith no alcohol but I didn't want the regular Chapman. Again I relied on the recommendation of the server and she recommended some 'Tropicana' cocktail. The drinks came first and before tasting I wasn't sure about the 'pink' foamy content of my glass. But I tasted it anyway, and boy it was heavenly. It's literally the best sweet cocktail I've ever had in Lagos. Even my friend tasted it and unconsciously muttered ‘wow’. It was so good. My Oxtail came some minutes later and the I remember the appreciation of my taste buds for that first bite. I had to close my eyes to savor the taste and relish how good what I ate was(I know you're rolling your eyes but I promise I'm not exaggerating😩😀). I tasted my friends lamb chops too and she tasted the oxtail from me for the first time. The result? We couldn’t agree on which tasted better. Nothing beats good food and Circa Lagos serves just that. I can’t do justice to this review without actually commending the brilliant service of the staff and even one of the owners of the place. The staff were warm, with genuine smiles. The owner also kept going from table to table asking if diners were enjoying their meal and the ambience was good too. For all that yuminess my friend and I spent just over N21,000, a very fair price considering how good the food and the general experience was plus the location. I've had bad food for more expensive in Lagos. I totally recommend this...

My review from 2 years ago:
Circa raises the bar for locally-owned and managed restaurants in Nigeria. The food is great, service is impeccable, cocktails are delicious. Everyone who owns a restaurant in Nigeria and complains about how hard it is to find, train and keep good staff-your arguments have just been invalidated. Circa somehow figured it out. The staff non only gets the mechanics of service correct, but they seem to understand the concept of service as well, which means they can adapt in a new situation and continue to deliver service that delights. The interior design is just the kind of design I like: it looks amazing but was done mostly with local materials, and didn't cost a fortune. It's easy to make your restaurant look great when you spent $1mil on the build-out and imported everything. But if you did it with local materials and spent a fraction of that; that is an accomplishment worthy of praise. This place is really the local version of many of its competitors but somehow they are doing it better because the heart and soul of Circa is Nigerian. What to expect: great service, good food, good cocktails, warm atmosphere. My only suggestion: the bartender was obviously a professional bartender and I would love to see some original cocktails come from him. I am looking forward to watching this place...
Read moreThis is one dope and lowkey spot on Lagos. Not to be confused with Circa on Admiralty Road. It's tucked away in a nearby street. Great ambience, and indoor space. Has a minimalist feel to it. The interior decor and aesthetics aren't so big. For food, my colleagues I (team of 5) had 2 Seafood Platter and Landlocked Platter. The platter was amazingly rich. The seafood platter had everything from snails, shrimps, oysters, crayfish etc. It tasted so nice. The landlocked platter wasn't bad either. The beef, Gizzard, chicken, oh my God. Amazing. The fries that came with were well fried and crispy. Each platter came with different sides. We had Asun shortly before the platters came in. I can swear they sell the best Asun in Lagos, no cap! We were filled to our throat after eating. It was that much and filling. Too dope. I will definitely be recommending to friends and visiting again. Worthy of note also is that it's a very small space, so I am not sure it it's a place that would be that comfy on Friday nights or other weekend evenings. They would need expansion, soo. I visited in the afternoon. Welldone Circa Lagos. You...
