We realise that the chef put some thought into curating the dishes and tried to showcase their inspiration and expertise but it completely fell flat across all parameters of taste, flavour, quantity and overall value for money. We visited Moon restaurant as a group from work on the 18th of September, 2023 with a group of 5. We like to cook and to us food is an emotion and a symphony. Yet the main course called "moon daal" came as an insult since it failed on all aspects of how it looked, tasted and was not served with any accompaniments as is the custom from where one of us hail i.e. India. The lamb piece served as the non-vegetarian option was extremely fatty and chewy. The two of us who ordered, left most of it uneaten on our plates. One of us, later got sick most likely because of the high fat content, which had rendered the lamb "inedible" in our opinion. Of course, the star of the evening was the chocolate dessert , which sadly only one of us ordered since the recommended dessert was the Hardanger apple dessert, which was okay (could have been more thoroughly cored and extremely hard to cut with a spoon. perhaps not the right choice in terms of the apple variety and discovery could have been a better alternative). one of us ordered the cheese platter, which was basically three minuscule cubes of cheese, although okay in taste. The only accompaniment were the breads, which was super hard and there was hardly any butter for the whole table to smear on the bread. Overall a very disappointing experience. We did enjoy the drinks, which of course did not need any cooking skills. - Anwesha, Antonio, Hanna,...
Read moreSo, I was one of the guests that was there when my friend found shards of glass in her food. So instead of apologising, you guys start lying that we threatened you with bad reviews if we didn't get free 7 Three - course meals. You don't need to fabricate lies to defend yourself. We understand that as a Michelin mentioned restaurant you have to save face and not be the restaurant that serves glass in food, but hey it happens, we weren't mad about the glass, its human error, it happens, it can happen to the best of us, but the lack of empathy and just not giving a damn that's not a human error, that lack of decency. We never said to you "Give us free meals", we just asked for a small discount on the dish that you guys served with glass, and as a Michelin mentioned restaurant that's something you should offer yourself, that is what's called human decency. And I Like how the manager or whoever named Nicolas comments even tho he didn't talk to us one time, it was with the waiter. Maybe your waiter is lying to you? And the fact that the glass was on a napkin is because it was in her mouth and she had to spit it out in a napkin, or do you want her to spit it out on the floor or the table? She almost ate shards of glass, this is not hair we're talking about here, it's glass. She could get serious injuries, so step up and take responsibility for your actions, and stop acting like we're trying to lie to get a free meal, our friend could get injured...

First to what really worked well. The service was friendly, efficient, informative. Very nice people. Professional. The plants hanging around the restaurant were calming and the serving dishes were well thought out and accentuated the dishes thematically.
The food unfortunately was a mixed bag. The duck dish was quite nice, good quality meat, chanterelle mushrooms were nicely seasoned. the flavors worked together. Paul’s Garden delivered a dissonant layering that produced a smooth coherent flavor, visually pleasant result. And the first dessert which included a lemon verbena ice cream with raspberries was tasty.
The other three dishes were lackluster. The langoustine was perched on what tasted like a glorified tabouli salad. That really didn’t succeed. Either did the accompanying sauce which had very little potency or nuance. The halibut was probably the biggest disappointment: the fish had very little flavor by itself. Definitely the most bland halibut we’ve tasted (aside from my own highly questionable cooking…) and the sauce failed. It just didn’t have much personality and didn’t lend flavor to the dishes thematically.
In summary: excellent service, calming decor, half the dishes worked, sauces failed and fish failed.
My advice: try the 4 course menu and choose the duck and the raspberry...
