Bistro Budapest — Restaurant in Oslo

If you reeeally love Hungarian food, this place is definitely worth a try. Personally, I thought the goulash was delicious and quite similar to what I’ve had in Budapest. The soup was packed with flavor, the vegetables were nicely cooked, and the beef was perfectly tender. Unfortunately, the bread was a bit of a letdown as it was quite dry.

I do feel the price could be a bit more reasonable. That said, I ordered through Wolt, which probably took away some of the experience. «Soup food» rarely shine when delivered. Still, when you’re paying over 245 kroner, expectations naturally rise.

The owner takes great pride in providing great customer experience. What struck me was the ownership of customer care despite problems caused by another restaurant and the ability to empathize with customers. Good wines and can recommend the dessert wine (Tokaji Aszu)!

Note: had drinks from here whilst dinner was served by Helt Vilt. Helt Vilt disappointed in every way. The only upside of our new year's eve experience was the owner of this restaurant taking care of us. Always smiling, always defending our interests and serving great Hungarian wines....

We just had a Saturday family lunch at Bistro Budapest in the beautiful location of the Mathallen.

After a warm welcome from the staff we immediately felt welcome. We ordered Burgers and an authentic beef goulash. Waiting time was short and we enjoyed the cosy environment of the bistro. It offers a stylish decoration, right sized tables and natural light to make it a pleasant getaway place.

The food was excellent and was offering a fantastic taste experience.
