Libertine Vinbar — Restaurant in Oslo

We have visited Libertine Wine Bar several times previously and had enjoyed the atmosphere, but we most definitely will not be returning.

We were a group of four women, two of whom weren’t drinking alcohol. When asking about non-alcoholic options, one of our party was met with a belittling response by the owner to explain they don't cater to non-alcoholic options as they are a wine bar.

Once the two wine drinkers had finished their 1000nok bottle of wine, we were pressured into agreeing to another bottle by a waiter, without being informed that our table reservation was over in 15 minutes. Shortly after being served our second bottle we were asked to leave our table, and the interaction with the owner turned unexpectedly confrontational. On departure the owner then became offensive with myself in regards to one of our party and told me "people like you ar not welcome here". The whole interaction was extremely perplexing as it was them that had pressured us into a further bottle, for the owner to then turn strangely hostile and rude towards us because one of our party had fairly pushed back on our eviction.

Perhaps the owner should understand some polite prior warnings of timings would be beneficial and appropriate if they wish clients to vacate a table, and not to pressure them into a 1000nok bottle of wine when it is impossible to finish it.

My advice is to take your custom to a more classy establishment like Victor's Vinbar where they value customers over...

If you like the same level of service as a student nightclub in a wine bar that is massively overcharging, this is the place for you. If you like being treated like an adult and spoken to like a valued customer, try somewhere else. Service is diabolical, the owner is in the wrong line of work.
