I come from a country that has really high standards for burgers. By now it has become almost a national dish. So I know my burgers, and I'm going to explain, in detail, what I thought about this specific one. I had the Umami burger, with extra bacon, and thin cut fries.
The good: Overall the burger was tasty. Was it the best burger I even had? No, but it had good flavors, was juicy enough, and definitely lots of Umami flavors to keep you wanting more. The toppings were nice and flavorful. Maybe even slightly too strong, masking the flavor of the burger slightly. Fries seemed to be made fresh. Atmosphere was definitely nice, lots of people sitting outside (was nice weather), cool music, was very chill. Waiters were super nice, food came quick. Lots of beer and cocktail options.
The bad: The burger was a bit overcooked to my tastes. A bit gray. Should be more pink inside. The fries were wayyyyy overcooked. I like crispy fries as much as the next guy, but they weren't just crispy, they were almost burnt, and dry. Dips cost extra. Listen, Tel Aviv, where I'm from, is one of the most expensive cities in the world. A burger meal like this costs about 20 euros (or about 25 dollars). That always seemed like a lot to me. This meal cost me 33 euros (36 dollars), and that's without any extra dips, with no desserts, and I just had coke for a drink. That's a lot.
Overall: As you can see from my score, I overall enjoyed my experience. I think it's a better place to come with friends, have a drink, and just chill. The burger is secondary to the atmosphere.
Sorry for the lack of photos, I was so hungry when I got the burger that I didn't even think about taking...
Read moreKverneriet = 🐀🐀🐀 rats (3 out of 5) Probably the best burger in Oslo. BUT. Hygiene, please! In these days you could at least expect a clean table when your seated. Not to crowdy and still the table for the Rat Pack was full of leftovers from previous customers. We even had to clean the table ourselves. Not good. Not good at all. The burgers though is worth the trip. But they don´t inform about the size of the burgers. But most likely they come somewhere around 140 grams. So not to big and hiding the fact that they are charging maybe to much compared with the competition. And the fries comes in small portions and not as crispy and hot as you may expect. Otherwise good service despite the dirty table and nice atmosphere. Good selection on beverage. And the rats was happy with the quality of the draft Pale Ale. Go for the burgers indeed. But take two burgers and skip the fries if you...
Read moreI’ve been here multiple times and can say that it is a great restaurant. The best burgers and milkshakes in Oslo can be found here. They have a big varied menu with a lot of different options for every taste as well as having a great selection for allergy prone people.
I really recommend coming here for dinner with your friends. Or a casual lunch on a relaxing Sunday.
While I would give it 5 stars I will only give it four because of the interior. They used to have a very nice comfortable and chic interior but after renovating they chose to make the dining area smaller and pack tables to close together. I personally am not a fan of the new interior.
I look forward to come here not only in winter but also in summer and enjoy there amazing...
