EDIT-Response to your answer: I can name you at least 10 other oslo places with the exact same serving concept as yours that allow dogs, that ofc have contacted MT and follow all the hygiene rules recommended by them, yet use something known as common sense. Most of these places are not even vegan, so this would be more expected from a vegan place such as yours, but nope. Also, you commenting that dogs shaking would result in dog hair in food is ridiculous. The food is covered with tall glass and if we are to follow this logic, then all of your serving staff should wear a medical hat to cover their hair (not to mention i once did get my buddha bowl with a hair in it, but i dont make a fuzz around it). The whole point of this is that you yourself choose to ban dogs without any law or logics that forces you to do so. Being vegan friendly but not pet friendly just doent go hand in hand anywehere else in the world. INITIAL COMMENT: This is the very first vegan place (and i have been to many all around the world) that does not allow dogs inside. Its absolutely ridiculous and it is the owner or the one who cooks ( in the kitchen in the back) who instructs on this. There is another comment on this issue down below, where they reply that it is forbidden by the law to let the dogs inside, and I can assure you (as someone who works in the field, here in Norway) THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE! Mattilsynet only forbids animals in the kitchens where the food is prepared and never in the places where it is served. In Norway the law is very clear that each and every serving place is to decide themselves about the pets policy. This is why so many eateries, cafes and restaurants in Oslo now allow dogs, cuz ppl know the law and they were protesting, so something good had to come out of that. But for a place that calls themselves vegan to forbid pets, it is disturbing. And on top of that, lying to ppl on this matter here on google reviews is even more disturbing. I am boycotting this place until they start using common sense and realize we are in anno 2023 and not 94....
Read moreWho knew that vegan dining could be so wonderfully fulfilling? I had recently given up on vegan restaurants in Oslo but at Nordvegan I was captivated by all the textures & flavours. Portion size was so proper that I was barely able to finish my meal. For a very reasonable price, you're in for a hearty meal that is so so delicious. I had no room for dessert! 😲
It was a challenge having to choose which one of their dishes I'd try first. I've already planned my next visit so that I can try more.😉 I went for the day's wok & got to mix a little noodles with brown rice to taste both; both are good but I really appreciate the spicy chilli on the noodles.🌶 Wok was juicy, colourful & flavourful. How lovely that you can tailor your meal exactly as you'd like, adding veggies (I had to add the beetroot sprouts) and different condiments & toppings for a small addition in price (15-20nok each).
The place was packed & really busy (I was there 5pm-7pm). I admit the seating was slightly too intimate (café style) for my preference regarding dinner meetings. I'd be so stoked if they expanded & got a restaurant location with more space, where people could have a romantic dinner or a group celebration (and stay a couple hours without feeling the pressure to give up their table to incoming customers). Nordvegan is absolutely best for shorter dinner visits, perfect for lunch, and the upside to the casual style is that it's comfortable to eat alone.

Read moreWe were excited to learn of NordVegan as two of our group have a gluten allergy and it advertises itself as 86% gluten free/coeliac safe. However on arrival we were instructed to have the curry as the primary gluten free option. We were happy to have curry- however the mushrooms that came with the curry were fried in the same oil as gluten containing foods. We then observed significant cross contamination through the use of shared equipment between the summer rolls which contain gluten and non gluten options in the curry - the tofu. This caused significant concern. The plates then arrived - with a normal portion or rice and curry sauce with 4 cauliflower florets and some added broccoli. (No mushrooms or tofu because of the issue ms around cross contamination). As someone without allergens I was able to have a Buddha bowel. Which was a good portion, however my enjoyment was completely negated by the disappointment of the other two meals. From a pure cost point of view the curry meal was not value for money at all and was not filling. This experience was even more disappointing because of our expectations from the web site. We would not recommend this restaurant for anyone with a gluten...
