My girlfriend and I decided upon oriental not only for the conviency being close to P-Hotels where we were staying but also for the chinese food and so-called good reputation this restaurant has. I believe this review to be a more accurate and honest account than prior reviews would have you believe. Firstly upon arrival, we were very rudely given a table while the waiter was on the phone. The lack of disrespect at this point , made me want to just leave immediately , if it wasnt for the fact me and my girlfriend were quite tired and extremely hungry at this point I would have definetely have acted on this. Secondly, from reading accounts of the menu from other users , it is true that the menu is quite difficult to navigate and does not make ordering food an enjoyable experience. Not to mention the beer choice, either japanese or chinese branded beer.. so european beer isnt good enough? Especially at the extortionate rate they were selling it. Thirdly the food did arrive in good time and to be fair was very well recieved by me and my girlfriend , but the crampt environment and poor lighting , coupled with cold olso air because a window had to be open meant even this experience was diminished. Overall a very lack-lustre chinese experience , definetely would try other places that a more welcoming and forthcoming in their gratitude...

One of the few places where the waiters service turned out to be saltier than the food.

Regarding the food, for the price, the value is the lowest. Imagine dumping bags of salt on every dish.
Finally, during payment, imagine the waitress telling you to put in a tip while sarcastically explaining the high amount of Norwegian taxes the restaurant had to pay.
Salty taste in your mouth literally and figuratively. Thumbs down all the way. Recommend passing...
Read moreWas here solo on a Friday evening without booking, they weren't too busy. Nice decor. Felt clean but more like superficially so.
Note access is via a flight of stairs and I'm not sure if there is disability access.
Tried their buddha pot - beware the way the server worded things this dish may have a version that is made with meat stock - check. The server asked how spicy I wanted it and went with "mild". With the red taint the way it arrived, I had worried I wouldn't be able to handle it, but actually it was just right and the sauce was great. Overall, it was still kind of nice, but I'd have preferred more bits of tofu (the 2.5 pieces you see were it) and mushrooms. There's no option for it to come with fried rice instead, not that you really need it.
Service was...
