Nestled in the heart of Stavanger, Brasserie Pigalle is a French-style gem that transports you straight to the golden era of Paris. The atmosphere is nothing short of mesmerizing—luxurious yet soulful, blending old-world charm with a modern twist in its stunning interior. The open kitchen adds an extra layer of enchantment, allowing diners to watch culinary artistry unfold.
From start to finish, the service was impeccable. The staff exuded warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness that enhanced the entire dining experience.
The evening began with one of their signature cocktails, showcasing an impressive variety to suit every taste. The cocktail menu is worth exploring further, and I can’t wait to return to try more.
I opted for the beef tartare for starters, a testament to classic French cuisine done right. The meat was fresh with no oxidation, maintaining its beautiful texture, and paired with sourdough bread. Personally I would go for some more lighter bread, but this works, especially since we're in Norway.
The main course, The halibut, a recommended choice, was a masterpiece. Every element on the plate was thoughtfully crafted—the fish was perfectly flaky, the sauce bold and aromatic, balancing strong, fatty, acidic, and salty notes that complemented the halibut exquisitely. The celery purée added a delicate backdrop, letting the fish remain the star of the show. Accompanied by a carefully chosen wine with just the right acidity, this dish was a symphony of flavors.
For an extra indulgence, I had the pleasure of sampling their entrecôte. This A-grade beef was cooked to perfection and served with crispy French fries—a nod to classic French comfort food that did not disappoint.
The meal concluded with a divine chocolate tart, blending salty creamy peanut filling and strong chocolate base, served alongside a refreshing sorbet. The balance of sweet and salty, rich and light, made it the perfect end to an extraordinary meal.
Brasserie Pigalle offers a dining experience that feels both timeless and luxurious. From the exceptional food and wine selection to the ambience and service, every detail is meticulously curated. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a culinary escape, this is a place worth revisiting again and again and again.
Don’t miss this slice of Paris...
Read moreBrasserie Pigalle opened last year in Hotel Victoria. The restaurant is very elegant and there seems to have been quite a lot of focus on details – from the plush, red furniture to beautiful and playful custom-made saucers. I decided to have a celeriac/white asparagus starter while my partner had the steak tartare. And for mains: suckling pig and sirloin. But before we got the food, we got some bread and two types of butter. The bread was good, but it would have been even better if it came warm out of the oven. It did not take long before the starters were served, and the tartare was impressive. It came served in a large bone and the tartare was mixed with roasted bone marrow, pickled onion, mustard seeds etc and it was outstanding. It was a large portion, so I was fortunate to get to taste it as well. My celeriac was served with white asparagus and stracciatella and looked pretty – but I would have enjoyed getting the celeriac baked even longer to have a contrast to the firmer asparagus.
The mains were served after about 30-40 minutes and note that you can order various sides and sauces for the mains. The sirloin was cocked to perfection and came just with a sprinkle of salt. The green salad that she ordered as a side, was visually stunning but there was not that much to the crispy salad. My suckling pig was served with a simple demi-glace sauce, Hasselback potato and sweet potato cream. The meat was amazing as it was so tender that it was basically falling apart the moment I touched it! We all thought the portions were satisfying and did leave a bit of room for dessert! Pigalle can offer a cheese platter – or various classic sweet desserts. I love cheesecake so I ordered the Basque cheesecake that was offered. This was good but I think there is room for improvement in both consistency (I would like to see it creamier) and in taste.
All in all: this was a great night out and Brasserie Pigalle is certainly a place we can recommend! It is stylish with an elegant atmosphere. The service was great and there were some delicious highlights in some...

I went with a friend for say goodbye to the year at this restaurant, and the true is that it has been all one discovery and a pleasant experience. Both the food, which was delicious, as the service, which was very nice and attentive to us at all times, allowed us to have a great New Year’s Eve night.
First, we were treated to a glass of champagne, and then escorted to the restaurant itself.
Everything was incredibly good!:
For starters, they gave us a super fluffy and delicious focaccia, accompanied by butter, and they offered us a white wine. Then, we continued with a tartare, which was very fresh on the palate. And combined with the wine, it was great.
We continued with a fish, perfectly cooked, tender, that melted in the mouth, accompanied by crayfish, and another different white wine. The sauce that accompanied it was very good.
Then, we continued with duck, broccoli, a puree, and another delicious sauce. The mix of flavours and the point of the meat, it really was an incredible mixed. Of course, it was accompanied by a red wine, wich was also very good.
Lastly, they gave us a passion fruit mousse, with ice cream and a kind of cookie or cruch, which gave it a crunchy touch. And of course, a dessert wine that I loved.
The kitchen faces the public, so you can see how the kitchen team works. The truth is that, you can see their proffesionalism, their great involvement in each plate, and their coordination as a team. Great professionals.
Likewise, the waiters were super friendly, very helpful, and attentive to us at all times, in case we needed something or we wanted something else.
And all, taking into account that this night the place was full of people. So, we are very grateful to all the service in general, cookers and waiters.
Thank you very much for giving us a great New Year’s Eve night. We will return very soon to repeat this great experience with others friends and...
