Salon du Nord — Restaurant in Stavanger

Salon du Nord is the bar at the historic Hotel Victoria in Stavanger. The hotel was refurbished a couple of years ago and the Salon du Nord was also refurbished with it and has become a lovely and stylish bar! The place focuses primarily on cocktails and drinks, but they can also offer food. We went there on a Saturday for lunch and were very lucky with the weather. Due to this we could sit outside and enjoy the autumn weather. We decided on a filet mignon brioche burger and a Chèvre salad. It was wonderful to sit outside in the great weather and enjoy some cold champagne, but it was a little strange that it took 40 minutes to get the food served. We were basically the first guest that arrived for the lunch.

My Chèvre salad contained a large piece of lightly grilled Chèvre that was placed on top of lettuce along with beets, walnuts, pears, and a kind of bread and topped with some honey. It was a very good salad with delicious flavors and contrasts, and it also looked great. Nikki's burger came with aioli in a small bowl, fries and the "burger" was deconstructed. But Nikki put the burger together and enjoyed the meat that was cooked to medium as specified. There was also a good combination of sweet onion and onion that was crispy fried. We had bad experience the last time with a waiter. We wanted to move tables because of the cold air from the entrance door. We tried to give a signal but the staff were busy with another table. So we move to the next table and will notify the staff when he is free. After a while, he came to us and complained about moving the table. We does understand that he is doing his jobb but he criticizes us instead of explaining in a polite tone. When we said that we are dissatisfied with his reaction then he started talking about our religion. We was very shocking. So we would like to stop this arrangement and spend good time with my friends. Then when paying and preparing to leave but he didn't stop and came back to us and began to talk about the same thing again. We tried to explain that what he have done were disrespectful and insulting to us. Then he just kicked us out of the restaurant. And the security guards came to control us to hurry out of the restaurant like we did something very bad. We didn't get drunk or loudly or break things. We expected to got good time and nice from your restaurant but we don't got it. My friends came here for the first time and was not impressed by this situation. It makes us feel so ashamed and...
