We arrived around noon, the restaurant was almost full and unfortunately there was nobody at the front desk so we chose to take a seat on the terrace. The Italian waiter greeted and seated us at a table. After we ordered I was curious about the location so like every new restaurant I check out …I had to go the bathroom.
Pros. The entrance in the restaurant is amazing… this guys grow their own GREENS (basil, rosemary etc). If that’s not fresh, I don’t know what is. Big thumbs up for this amazing idea. All restaurant should have it. The staff(waiters, bartender, chefs) looked like they knew what they were doing. Italian waiter was smiling and being professional at all times. The design of the bar was original… the marble and metallic finish looked great. The beer dispenser placement was amazing… just wow… if somebody is curious about it hm…they should check the restaurant in person… totally worth it. Some people would use the term ‘’business card’’ to describe the bathroom of a restaurant… so the bathroom here was spotless and very chic We ordered pizza prosciutto e fungi. It was so tasty, fresh and the dough was perfect. I ordered a Negroni cocktail. Almost balanced. Crisp. 8/10
Cons.
On the terrace stairs there were 4 trays full of dirty glasses, bottles, plates which could have been tipped over by a guest very easy… it seemed to me that the waiters needed some help. The area was cleaned eventually. When the order arrived the coffee was spilled from the cup so the plate was a bit dirty
All restaurants are amazing and most of the problems begin when restaurant owners forget that they feed people… and one of the most important rules of the restaurant business is ‘’Always provide the guest with clean food’’ Frati restaurant passed my ‘’test’’ so I totally recommend it. I will surely go...
Read moreI can only comment on the cocktail bar as that's the only thing I ordered here.
I walked in from ØX downstairs after they recommended I order a cocktail upstairs, as I wanted to try their house akevitt in a non-premixed cocktail but they couldn't do it there. So once upstairs I ask the bartender what he could make with the akevitt, to be told that I must order from the menu. He hands me a menu, which contains no cocktails containing their akevitt as a main liquor, but at this point I'm committed, so i decide to order a 'Italian Razz' from the menu, a grappa based spur style with eggwhite. The bartender makes this with what I would consider shameful technique, adding the puree(the most viscous liquid) to the jigger last, checking the bar instructions twice, adds no eggwhite, shakes about twice, and pours me my drink. I ask 'does this have eggwhite' And he replies 'no'
The bar instructions said no eggwhite, but the customer menu clearly states 'eggehvite'
After all this, the cocktail was mid tier, with a heavy grappa flavor and not many redeeming qualities.
This seems to represent a disconnect between intention and actual creation.
Steer clear of the cocktails here, but the food...
Read moreTonight we had dinner at the restaurant. We were happy that they had a table for us at 19.00. We were with 4 People. 2 ordered the Meat (Anus beef & tender loin) which were delicious. Meat was really tender. 2 of us ordered pasta, ravioli & pasta of the day, but it was a bit dissapointing. Not what we expected from an Italian restaurant.
The waitress wasn't really friendly nor willing to help. We were translating the menu and she wasn't really patient for us to order and the questions we asked seemed too much. When asking for the bill, she simply gave the bill and left the pin automat on the table for us to pay and left. While we wanted to pay part in cash and needed some instructions for the machine as everything was in Norwegian.
For this reason we did not tip...
