We visited the place on 15th Jan (5 adults 2 kids) for a surprise dinner of a friends bday organized by her spouse.
The food order was placed a day before and table was pre booked and all the instructions were clearly communicated to the restaurant team.
Despite placing pre order, we had to remind atleast 4-5 times to get the cake which was suppose to be there on the table before the bday boy arrives.
We again had to remind for the starters to be brought which they started preparing after we reminded the staff. The same was the case with the dinner.
What added to our frustration was that all other tables both who arrived with us and those came later were promptly served and we who had everything pre ordered a day before and paid, had to remind again and again to get the things.
It felt as if the restaurant was taking its Indian guests for granted assuming that we would tolerate the subpar service and this attitude without complaining.
It is hard to believe that in this day and age, establishment like these still engage in discriminatory practices based on their guests' ethnicity.
Most shocking thing to be aware of is that the same review was put up by my friend. The Hotel called up her and offered a complimentary dinner/lunch for 2 people if she would take down her review.
When she did not take down the post, they some how got access of her details from social media and again contacted her. This time they threatened her to take down the post (as she is from same industry) and also mentioned that they will make it difficult for her to get job here in Muscat (as she also belongs to same industry and currently looking for job) and also contacted one of her colleagues in previous employment and asked him/her to speak to her and convince her to take down the post.
Unfortunately she felt the pressure and took down the post.
That's the main reason I had to again post the same here.
This could have been handled in a better way by the hotel management. However they tried to threaten people to take down a genuine review. Hope this reaches out to relevant authority of the hotel and necessary actions are taken against the employees involved.
At last will suggest people to exercise caution when you visit them (specially Indians) and be ready to get threatened from hotel staff if you...
Read moreWe visited Bukhara for an Ala carte meal. We were received by Ms Kranti and seated comfortably .
While we were waiting for our order - we were served with riata , mint coriander chutney and generous serving of papad. Mint Coriander chutney tastes amazing with papad.
We Ordered -
paneer butter masala -- we asked them to alter it to suit our taste . The PBM was amazing and absolutely perfect to our taste. A bit spicy as we requested with hint of sweetness.
Dal Bukhara - which is their Speciality dish . Unfortunately I was hoping the taste of Delhi Bukhara famed taste . But I was disappointed. As the Dal came out to be just normal. It lacked the much needed mild hint of sweetness . The dal consistency was good and creme but lacked the taste. We asked to alter the dish, they obliged to alter and sent bck the Dal again , but it tasted the same. We accepted out fate ;) , Dal was a let down both the time.
Naan and laccha paratha were amazing . Butter garlic naan was amazing n wasn't chewy or stretchy.
Overall experience was avg . Could have been good if not for the double let down by Dal.
This was our second visit. We liked the previous veg Thali better than this ala carte visit.
Ambience is good overall, beautiful interiors giving the traditional feel.
I would like to Thank Mr Lenjin (apologies if spelled wrong ) , their floor manager who took our feedback and was very attentive and warm to welcome the guest.
P.s - this is not same ITC, Delhi famed Bukhara branch .
Previous experience of Veg Thali was better...

In SET Menu 2 , Starter -2 pieces of Chicken Tikka, Salmon Tikka Main Course- Dal Bukhara, Butter Chicken, Murg Dum Biryani , Butter Naan Desert- Chef's Special Desert ( 1 piece of Rasmalayi & Gulab Jamun )
