I write this review with a sad heart, as I really had a high expectation of this restaurant after a friend recommended them to me.
Please keep in mind this is my personal experience and im sure that this is not a regular occurrence at the restaurant.
It was not off to a great start when we requested menus, but were advised to scan the QR code to get access to the menu. This is all fine and fair if you are a local, I as a tourist did not have access to mobile internet, and when asked if they have wifi available, the answer was no. After struggling for a few minutes trying to hop onto a nearby hotel's wifi we managed to get a look at the menu.
The menu offering was impressive and spread out nicely. There are options for everyone.
We ordered 2 shisha pipes ( traditional oman smoking pipe ) And some drinks,
I ordered a hummus dish and my friend ordered a chicken wrap.
We received the hummus but after waiting an addition 10 minutes for the wrap, we had to ask where the food is people no service person has checked up on us since.
We finally received the chicken wrap after another 6 minutes.
The chicke wrap was ok. It was just another chicken wrap and the hummus well. Unfortunately i found i big piece of metal in the hummus.
The manager did however come out and apologized profusely and offered to remake the dish. But unfortunately my appetite was lost and I declined.
I Really expected alot more from the restaurant as it was located in a high end part of Oman, Muscat. And the prices are quite high compared to other restaurants that we had visited during our stay in Oman.
Restaurants like these need to realize that just because you guests are generally from a higher income bracket, it does not mean that you can get comfortable and start slipping on food and service quality.
The reataurant has everything it needs to be a great establishment. But unfortunately as they say, first impressions are lasting and they have a...
Read moreEating here will get you in the hospital.
Normally i’m not the type of leaving reviews. Especially bad ones, because things happens sometimes. But this is a special case.
After eating here my wife got very sick at night. Her condition rapidly deteriorated, and she had to be admitted to the hospital. They diagnosed her with food poisoning.
I have contacted the restaurant after this. I have told them the issue and the reply i got was them covering for themselves. Asking me to tell the hospital to run tests so it can be directly pointed at them. The hospital doesn’t perform such test because it doesn’t affect the outcome/diagnose/management of the poisoning. This leading in them not wanting to take responsibility for their low quality food.
Both the General Manager as the Ops Manager just tried to cover behind the fact that the hospital didn’t provide a report saying it was their food that caused it. But when i told the doctor the timeline of our day, what we ate and when we ate, he confirmed it couldn’t be any other food that caused the poisoning.
So be aware. A visit here can lead to an expensive...
Read moreShrimp 16/20 size was served but announced and sold as jumbo. Jumbo shrimp is U10 size. Three size above. So not difficult to see that they are serving the wrong items. 7.500 omr for 4 pour shrimp very small is over over priced. Not acceptable. Especially when the wholesale market price for the 16/20 is barely 3.5 omr /kg. That means that they are margin 10 times the purchased price. Dish with variation of 3 lamb was very average. The meat was perfectly cooked. But unfortunately tasteless. Same goes for the side dish, mash potato (zero salt) and quinoa (boiled with nothing) tasteless as-well as the gravy, if we can call this gravy. The chef might want to try the food before serving it. Honestly, I have know this place in the past serving tasty food. This Comment is from a person with 25 year of experience as chef in 5 stars hotel. Out. Of this 10 years was as executive chef. So yes Yeah I know exactly what i am talking about. Very...
