P.S: Replying to the owner’s response. No that’s false, no one ever apologized to us, or did anything when the dog was around our table even after asking to do something about it, the guys answer and attitude was it was not his problem, rude and incompetent, stop trying to make it look like the customer is overreacting or lying when you did nothing and couldn’t care less during and after the incident, and the door was kept open, when we left it was still open when no one was there, besides everything you are the one lying here for other people to read
They have the doors open and they don’t care when nasty dogs from the street get inside the restaurant and go sniff at your table or your 6 months old baby, a very big dog was around my table and wouldn’t leave, and waiters didn’t seem to care, even after asking my waiter to do something about it, he just simply looked at me annoyed and said he didn’t know who the dog belonged to and did nothing about it, I was about to leave but someone from my table threw water at the dog to make him leave. I love all kind of animals but having a large dog from the street sniffing and getting close to your baby and food is scary, unhygienic and unacceptable. A pet friendly restaurant is one thing, cause dogs are on a leash and you already know what to expect if you go to place like that, this was careless, rude and horrible service, if an unleashed dog gets all the way inside and bites someone I guess they will say they are not...
Read moreA beautiful restaurant with service that attempts to match the decor. The food, however, is a bit disappointing. The empanadas de Jack fruit with the peach salsa was delicious, however the entrees that followed were a big letdown. The jerked chicken was super tender but way over salted, almost to the point of being inedible. The accompanying slaw was fresh but again, over salted. The fried yucca cubes were tasty but were in desperate need of some type of sauce for dipping. My dining companion ordered the cassava gnocchi. It was fairly bland in that there were no discernible spices or flavor profiles. And again, this dish was overly reliant on salt to give it any flavor. I suspect the yucca gnocchi was actually the same fried yucca cubes that accompanied my jerked chicken, just drowned and soggy in the salty coconut milk sauce. We were tempted by the house made ice cream and decided to try the featured dragon fruit version. A beautiful presentation but the dessert was beyond inedible with a hideous flavor that was almost indescribable (actually, I described it colorfully to my dining companion who didn’t believe me, but gagged when she took a bite!). This is a beautiful place and the menu prices are very reasonable. But in a town with as many restaurants as Boquete has, Ngadri needs to retrain it’s culinary staff and up its game in...
Read moreI am docking a star (was tempted to dock 2 stars but felt that was a bit too much) for 2 reasons. 1) We had the La Cholita (corn empañadas) which had very little filling (about a tablespoon for a 2 inches wide by 4 inches empanada) so the ratio was way off. 2) The cream of pumpkin soup, the Cassava gnocchi and Spaghetti in chili sauce, were all tasty and the service good but the bowl with the soup had a wide brim which on one side was searing hot which the waiter neglected to tell us. When I wanted to pass it to my husband to try, he went to lift it and burned his hand. I felt around the plate and only one side was extremely hot as if it had been held over a hot flame. Fortunately he did not spill the plate and although he was hurt, he did not want to make a scene. When the waiter returned, I explained in Spanish what had occurred and he apologized somewhat - but I’m not sure I got across how the experience ruined a nice night out by causing such pain that could have...
