Kotowa Coffee House - Los Establos — Restaurant in Bajo Boquete

We decided to go coffee shop hopping one day in coffee capital of Panamá in a village called Bajo Boquete. We picked out two coffee shops and Kotowa was one. They are in a small plaza and the store is cozy. Seating was available and guests friendly. Service was excellent as was the coffee. Look, this in the best coffee in the world. We never had a bad cup or tumbler 😉. They have pastries and chocolates to pair with your brew. Highly recommended, so it's worth making the trip from wherever you are to experience a better cup than you can imagine. My beautiful wife said, "we've been drinking trash" in the USA and paying 3 to 4 times the real price. From now on, we're ordering Panamanian coffee from that company with the name of a Brazilian...

The locally grown coffee was amazing and delicious! The barista was top notch and perfectly prepared my mint chocolate frappe and my wife's cappuccino with a beautiful heart shaped swirl in the foam floating on top. There is a limited selection of pastries and sandwiches but they were also excellent. I loved my empanada chorizo and my wife loved her bagel sandwich with egg, bacon and cheddar. Located at the top of the hill in the building with the tourist bureau on your way into town from David, it is out of the busy area with a beautiful view of the town and the river below. Lastimosamente, no tuve una agradable primera experiencia en Kotowa. Del menú, pedí un chai sin azúcar ("sugar free" en su menú) para acompañar con un brownie que pedimos. Cuando estuvo listo, el té era muy azucarado. No se podía disfrutar. El brownie estaba extremadamente dulce, pero con un buen té se podía comer. Regresamos a solicitar que por favor nos lo cambiaran porque habíamos pedido uno sin azúcar (lo dice el recibo y lo dice el menú), pero la actitud ante esta solicitud no fue la más profesional de parte de las tres chicas que nos atendieron. No nos dejaban hablar y hablaban por encima de nosotros. Argumentaron sobre detalles que maneja el staff, no los clientes. ¿Cómo vamos a saber que los tés que vende Kotowa son todos azucarados, a pesar de que en su menú ofrecen las opciones "sugar free" sin azúcar? Me pareció absurdo.

Obviamente, a las miembros del staff no les fue fácil aceptar que hubo un error en su menú (y de hecho no lo aceptaron) y que nosotros como clientes habíamos pedido algo y nos sirvieron algo diferente. En fin, al final nos cambiaron el té por uno sin azúcar, pero no había necesidad en llevar al cliente a ese punto porque pedimos algo que leímos en el menú. Kotowa, creo que debemos mejorar en la atención al cliente y la calidad de sus productos para garantizar una excelente experiencia y...
