The hotel is clean but sparse on facilities. After speaking with locals I found out that the owner is in the tech industry so knows how to manipulate the ratings. Now it makes sense because this hotel is not a 4+. I would give it a solid 3.||Room size is good and bed/linens etc are nice. Toiletries were sparse and did not have a nice scent. No complimentary bottles of water - we paid twice as much here per night than the Waldorf Astoria in Panama City, and yet there we were given at least 4 free bottles of water each day. ||They advertise free breakfast but don’t state if it is hot or continental - this is coffee (they have tea bags but never any hot water to make tea), a small fruit plate (2 small slices each of papaya, pineapple and watermelon), egg and toast. Cereal is the local equivalent of fruit loops and cornflakes. It was definitely not worth the extra that they charge compared to places that don’t include it. If you have a chance to stay here or somewhere else in Boquete without breakfast, take it as there are places to eat with great breakfast. ||Facilities - they have a “casino” if you can call it that. Say no more. Didn’t try the restaurant because was unimpressed by breakfast. ||No swimming pool - but there is a stream at the back of the property - the only problem is that the sewer smell overtakes the beauty of the stream so you can’t enjoy it. And you are not permitted to go into the stream. ||There is a trampoline for kids and small slide for toddlers. There is a foosball table and a pool table. ||Parking - even if it’s not included (it was included in my package) there is plenty of street parking so don’t worry. ||It’s a 10 min light stroll to the Main Street in...
Read moreWhere to start... this hotel claims to be the only hotel in Boquete with AC in all rooms - this is a flat out lie, my room didn't have AC - and I wish it had because the room was stuffy and hot.||||Food in the restaurant is inedible, and that's not an exaggeration. Very odd given that Boquete actually has some of the best food in Panama.||||Wifi simply doesn't reach the rooms and isn't usable at all. Complaining about it did no good as all the receptionist had to say was "correct, correct, correct".||||Laundry prices are obscene. Also, the policy of charging you $10 if you lose the room key - which is the typical plastic room key you get everywhere - is unbelievable and something I had never seen before. ||||The safe kept on malfunctioning, which is an issue when the maid leaves your 1st story room balcony completely open when she's done. ||||When power goes out, their generator sounds like a 747 is revving its engine...
Read moreGreat location by a stream with lovely birdsongs all day long, very relaxing. Large room with quality furniture and extra-large bed. Nice molas on walls throughout. Garden by the river is great for lounging. Close to city but not too close, so easy to reach by foot but avoiding noise and traffic, I'd say no more than 10' walking. Be careful at night, there are no sidewalks. Good breakfast on terrace but not serving proper tea ? no teabags other than herbal teas ? I know the restaurant is separate (cannot charge to room) but still. Half of the world population drinks tea and even if Boquete is a coffee place, this is no reason not to have english breakfast teabags available. I'll bring my own next time. To put in the 3$ cup of hot water.|So 4 star only because of this and spotty Internet. But recommended all the same. Very peaceful and...
