I just ate at Frank’s Place. I know that another member of my party is planning on writing a review as well, so this may sound redundant but it is not. I only write reviews when I feel that a restaurant deserves it because it is impeccable or because it was substandard. In this particular situation, everything was impeccable until the bill came. To give a little background, one person received a margarita instead of a martini (or lemon juice was mixed into the martini by accident, I would assume) my friend dropped a full gin and tonic as the waiter handed it to her. My friend was basically responsible for the mistake because the glass was slippery. It had nothing to do with the waitstaff. The bill came and both of those drinks appeared on the bill. The Manager, Israel stated that because we spilled the drink, OFCOURSE we must pay for it. I can honestly say, being in the restaurant business for my entire life, I have never heard of a restaurant charging a customer for an accident!! I can state that Israel argued with us for a period of time until he finally removed both drinks. He had to come back to the table because the waitress removed the tip when she presented the check to us. I informed her to please add 15% back onto the check. Israel came back to help her correct this. He had the opportunity to apologize for the situation and chose to stand his ground and say ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to us.. HORRIBLE ending to a great meal with great service from the staff...
Read moreDinner on a Sunday, reservations for 5:30, the atmosphere was very "Big Easy" like. We drank almost a whole "bottle" of wine while waiting for our meal. The place was not very busy when we arrived, but by the 6:30/7pm hour it got packed. We were 2 people vs larger parties (we felt the larger parties got priority). Prepare for a lengthy waiting period to receive your food. Loved the atmosphere. It was a little more formal than I expected, Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin music playing and fun pictures/decor to look at. The wait staff was friendly and desired to assist/provide suggestions (I have extreme dietary restrictions). I opted for a side dish of vegetables. My friend ordered an Alfredo meal (both were cooked nicely and tasted good). We felt the portions for the price were a bit spendy. I rated the service lower because I feel the staff could have communicated better with each other and with us/the customer, having more focus on ALL customers. We asked multiple staff for more water and for the check, while our waiter worked the tables that arrived well after us. We had to wait 20 minutes for water, ask for refills, and ask 3 people for the check after sitting 30 minutes after...
Read moreOverpriced, low-quality food in a loud atmosphere where you can’t hear anyone at your table speak.
Ordered a salad with chicken, didn’t get the chicken and had to ask for it again. Received it several minutes later, cold, dry, and bland. It was either frozen or leftover from another day. The salad was not properly dressed or seasoned either.
The bolognese came piping hot out of a microwave and the sauce tasted like it came from a can. Again, bland.
The salmon was undercooked and bland, came with the smallest amount of purée and a small portion of roasted potatoes.
I requested to change a drink that I did not like and barely touched and they charged for it anyway.
Service was extremely slow despite not being very busy. They did not check in on us to see if the food was good. We also had to ask for the check three times before we actually got it.
We paid almost $110 for two people for this awful experience and will not be returning. There are much, MUCH better options available in Panama City at this price point with far better food, service, and atmosphere. Awful...
