I think I know Peruvian food pretty well as I lived in Lima for a bit, go back often as my wife is Peruvian and I also cook it myself. Food was fine, not the best , not Terrible. We got causa camarones, tiradito de corvina, pollo a la leña, anticuchos, arroz de carne, lomo saltado. So quite a variety of food. Causa was okay and tiradito too, even if maybe the fish wasn't really 100% fresh. Some people didn't eat it because they said it didn't smell right. Later, the waiter comes back to us telling us that the deep fried fish was on offer 50% off (sounded like a red flag to me, on a Saturday night). Lomo saltado was okay, anticuchos too. Arroz con carne was pretty good.
What was bad was the service. The restaurant wasn't full for a Saturday night, but the waiters were chatting at the bar and always took us a bit to get their attention. They brought us good to share every single time without spoons, forks or knives to use on the food to portionate it. So everyone we needed to ask for an extra spoon, fork, knife... It ruins the experience.
Fire the waiters, get someone that actually want to work and don't sell fish that might not be very fresh.
Anyway we won't go back, so many other Peruvian...
Read moreA very simple yet solid restaurant, offers a great selections on Peruvian food. I don’t speak Spanish, 2-3 ladies came helped me with the menu. The food is tasty, I’ve been to Peru and I’d say it tastes authentic. The portion is wild, I can eat a lot but I overestimated myself due to the fact that i underestimated their portion. Anticucho, grilled cow heart, 3/4 cooked, must try, the taste is unique, and I’ve been to 30 some countries and I still say the taste is unique. Their signature Peruvian chicken can be ordered individually or with sides. I tried to order half and thanks to the lady who talked me down to a quarter chicken! No way I could’ve finished it. The mixed seafood ceviche was a bit weak in taste, I would rather recommend fish only ceviche. Pardon my half-eaten food picture, you...
Read moreJust ate there tonight after shopping at Soho mall. We were looking into good food at reasonable prices. We found this place by accident as we needed shelter when it started to rain. A few local regulars were there cheering on a soccer game as we walked in. The server was friendly, she quickly entered wifi password for us as we sat down. The menu is in Spanish but the server explained the menu to us patiently. We had chicken leg quarter with rice/fries, beef soup with noodles, and pork chop with fries. Chicken was tender, good dipping sauces to accompany the chicken. Pork chop was a bit dry but tasty and the soup was flavourful. 4 dishes cost less than $40 and we were all...
