This is a place of extreme contrasts. Perfect empanadas are made from a flavor-rich mass, with cheese most likely made with milk from heavenly cows.
But coffee was so acidic that it would be a severe disservice to call it bad; that thing was evil. I can't explain how wrong the coffee tasted. This thing was brewed in Satan's blood instead of water in a dark place where children's dreams came to die before they became adults. But man, the empanadas....it was as if an angel had taken the purest thoughts of proud mothers and those feelings of wholesomeness you get from watching TikTok with puppies and made them into a deliciously tasty pastry.
I'm not sure how both things can coexist in the same universe, much less the same place without existing collapsing into itself, but here we are.
The atmosphere is super welcoming and well illuminated, but the servers (two of them) did this weird thing where they just chilled right inside our comfort zone. I swear one of them was close enough to see inside my ear. It was super bizarre. We whispered for things since they were practically sharing the table with us.
Just ask for the empanadas to go and get your coffee elsewhere. You won't regret tasting...
Read moreI spent a night in Panama City before heading out , I made a quick stop to this coffee place . I first came to know about it because I watched a documentary about Geisha coffee and aside from being the Coffee of choice for the Japanese imperial house and, the fact that a pound of it was sold for 803$ i was like “I have to try this coffee” . So mentiritas Blanca was the only place that has this coffee . I didn’t try anything else at the coffee shop only this coffee . I was pleasantly surprise ! It is def a coffee with a very different taste very floral a mix between coffee and tea . I had it black to be able to taste the coffee bean . It’s not your normal coffee taste . You have to be open minded and be ready to try something exotic . Furthermore , there is a certain way they make this coffee, the preparation itself it’s a skill and lovely to watch . I hope next time I can visit the farms in Chiriqui, where this coffee comes from . They gave me a lot of it and I didn’t want to waste it, therefore I drank it all ...let me tell you, I had energy for the whole day...
Read moreWhat a beautiful, delicious hidden gem!! This was my 2nd time coming by, and I decided to write my review because people need to know about this awesome place. The place is small but cozy and spacious at the same time. Parking is on the street, but every time, I've been able to find a park. Now, there are breakfast/brunch, lunch & dinner menus with some menu choices overlapping. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS!! We ordered a meat & potato empanada, the salmon toast, & a regular breakfast (pancakes, eggs & bacon) for the kid. Everything was so fresh and tasty. My kid ate everything!! (That's a win in my book automatically.) The servers are attentive but not pushy and helpful. They are known for their coffee selections; however, I'm not a coffee drinker. But, the smells were divine. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in...
