OMG! This place is absolutely amazing! If you want to go to a restaurant, a bar, or just to have fun and listen to music, you must go to Villa Ana! It is absolutely a UNIQUE experience! From the moment you open the doors to this beautiful house, which I found out later that it happened to be owned by my grandfather's first cousin, you will feel that you are in a dream. The elegance of all the renovations is out of this world. The attention to every detail in the house transports you to that era, the 1920's. And since there were no cellphones then, you won't be be allowed to use yours while you are in Villa Ana. On the first floor, we found the restaurant which is elegant and magnificence. The tables, chairs, lamps are one of a kind. The food was delicious. The presentation was magnificence. Each plate was served with a unique touch. I promise you, you will feel like you are the only one dinning. Our server Yelineth Sanchez, with the help of Jendry, ensured we had everything we needed. While we were dinning, we were greeted by Mr. Ruben Diaz. He is the face of Villa Ana and a remarkable person. He ensured that we were well taken care of and that our experience was unforgettable. Before we went to the second floor, a lounge with live music, we took a tour of the house. Vivian Cedeno showed us the entire Villa and explained everything about the house, its history, and its past owner, Ana Mercedes Arias. She was great! Well, let me tell you about the second floor of the Villa. It has a great atmosphere. You feel like you were at a "speakeasy". The blend of leather sofas, the wooden low ceilings, and the live music made us feel at home. We actually didn't want to leave! The Villa has sort of an attic, where you can find a cigar bar, which a great variety of habanos, and a rooftop. The view is breathtaking. I could go on and on, but why spoil the surprise? If you are in Panama and want a unique and unforgettable experience, you must visit Villa Ana. You...
Read moreFirst, a word about the no-phones policy: ¡Bravo! If you thought that elegant, fine dining was dead, think again. It's alive and thriving at Villa Ana. It was so nice not to be surrounded by self-styled "influencers" snapping images of themselves and their food every ten seconds. This is an experience worth a stopover in Panama if you're headed elsewhere. It's set in a 1920s home lovingly restored to its original glory in Panama's historic Casco Antiguo. We arrived early so that we could enjoy a drink at the bar upstairs from the dining room. The bar staff was exceptionally skilled and prepared excellent drinks. We enjoyed the Angelical and the Montecarlo, both made with gin. We asked for a wine recommendation. We opted for a bottle of the Uruguayan Garzón Albariño. We knew nothing about Uruguayan wines and were really impressed. The staff brought the bottle down to the dining room for us where the tables were set with fine china, real silverware and crystal stemware. The service was refined and the servers extremely knowledgable. The food was first rate, with a mixture of international cuisines. For starters, the duck gyozas and kampachi with pastrami spices were outstanding. For mains, the lamb tagine was unbelievable with the scent of the spices wafting over the table. It's become my husband's new favorite dish anywhere. For dessert, the Trampantojo and Texturas de chocolate didn't disappoint. Villa Ana is pricey but worth every cent. It's truly an...
Read moreAnother amazing restaurant in Panama! Villa Ana's food and service is exceptional! I went here for a birthday dinner, and I was very impressed. Once you arrive, you are notified to place your phone in a locked pouch that you keep with you. It's a strange request, but it forces you to socialise with your dining party. It works wonders, as I had a marvellous time actually exchanging in interesting conversations with my whole dining group (without any phone distractions). You can use your phone in the reception area should you be required to do so (just ask one of the staff members to help you take your phone out of the locked pouch). Now, to the food, it was out of this world. They really go out of their way to ensure your dining experience is unforgettable. I had the tom yam soup as a starter, the grouper as a main, and the chocolate textures as a dessert. All my dishes were phenomenally delicious. The staff were also extremely attentive throughout our whole dinner. After our dinner, the staff gave us a guided tour throughout the whole restaurant. There are different restaurants and bars on each floor. The decor and atmosphere were very detailed and historic. If you go, I would definitely recommend visiting all the different floors of the restaurant to see the whole layout of the restaurant and to understand the history of the restaurant. I'll definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone for a fine...
