On Friday, July 22 myself and two girlfriends went to Mirandas for coffee and dessert. We all knew that the desserts are very good so purposely we decided to go. However, the service was extremely poor, more so the employees are very rude. When we arrived, we decided to sit inside and there were only tables that sit 2, yet we were a party of 3. We moved two tables together and immediately a waiter approached us and told us we could not move the tables. We told him that there was no other option as we were a party of 3 and we ourselves had moved the tables. Furthermore we told him that we were unaware that tables could not be moved as there was no sign indicating otherwise. We had our desserts/coffee and paid up. As we were getting up to leave, now the cashier approached us and in a scolding tone and very rude also told us that we could not move the tables. Again we indicated that we were unaware and there was no sign indicating otherwise. He failed to provide a valid reason for not moving the tables, so we responded that we were now aware that tables could not be 'moved', yet we probably would not come back due to the rude treatment at Mirandas. His response 'don't come back'. One of my girlfriends went up to him and asked what was the problem as we had already paid and were leaving anyways. There was no response. I asked to speak to the owner and this was denied, alleging that the owner was not in, yet I had seen him passing by. I then approached the cashier about his rude attitude. Finally the owner came out and asked what had happened. We explained, yet no valid explanation for the issue of moving tables. As a matter of fact the owner just listened and remained mute; no apologies. We left very unsatisfied. Subsequently, I noted that the reviews in DEGUSTA had complaints about the service at Mirandas and also about customers moving or asking to move tables due to the party size and having similar experience. Lessons learnt, avoid going to Mirandas, the poor service, rudeness with which customers are treated does not...

This bakery and cafe is a true gem in Panama City. The husband and wife team are graduates of the Culinary Institute of America, and they apply the techniques and experiences they learned there to create the most marvelous versions of local specialties like mamallena bread pudding and tres leches cake. When I've taken friends there, they've actually said, "this is nothing like the bread pudding I grew up eating." At Miranda, they bake and toast their own croutons to be cooked in the yummy custard and then topped with their homemade praline sauce. But it doesn't stop there. They also make the most wonderful kouign amanns, sourdough breads and croissants -- you'll think you waited in a long line in the Mission in San Francisco to have them. The dark horse of this place is actually not sweets, nor breads, but their burgers. They are the juiciest, freshest beef patties and topped with high-quality cheese, bacon, eggs, veggies on a seeded Parker House roll made in house. The grilled cheese on sourdough bread with tomato sauce is a terrific alternative as well. Yes, these are all cheat day items, but if you have fall off the wagon, you might as well do so with the highest quality ingredients in a charming setting. *I’ve revised this to 5 stars because I realize that as far as bakeries are concerned, there are few that stand up to Miranda’s quality in...

Only 4 stars because you have only 6 parking spaces at the coffee & bakery shop. Only got 2 coffees there. Friends ordered a "Las Vegas sandwich" which was a bagel with cold slices and cheese. Others ordered a croissant with scrambled eggs and something (didn't know how they called it). Sandwiches were okay but the croissant seemed to be not that good as I was told. It's always a lottery if I visit new places. Never know what you get. The coffee was very good! Update: To your response: There are roughly 6 parking spaces available. If you park more cars like "double parking " you got maximum 12 spaces. I am guessing there where 20 cars blocking each other. We had to wait 10 minutes until the owner of the car blocking us finally let us out. Your menus. I can only right about what we had on the table. Right? Nevertheless. I'm sure it is a unique place worth a visit in...

Really awesome little cafe in the San Francisco neighborhood in Panamá City. We ordered the pastrami sandwich and grilled cheese for lunch. Both sandwiches were delicious as the pastrami and breads are made in house. I liked the pastrami better than the grilled cheese, but I didn't like the rye bread. I'm not a huge rye fan, so I'd probably ask and see if they can sub it out next time. For dessert we had a passion fruit merengue pie with an iced latte and passion fruit juice. Coffee is awesome, they get it from Boquete. The tart was good, but I wish there was more of a passion fruit taste to it with a little less merengue. But the duo who owns this place are doing a fantastic job. It's a cool place to get some great lunch and coffee.

Best breakfast I've had in over a year of living in Panama. There were only two options: egg bacon and cheese in a croissant or the same thing in a bagel. I went for the croissant and it was amazing. Buttery, flakey, perfect. Not many places to sit but that adds to the cozy atmosphere. The cappuccino was also great, the froth was as thick as ice cream. Also decided to treat myself to a bacon maple donut afterwards. Wish I discovered this place a long time ago.
