Wish we had found this place earlier in our stay in Cusco. Really, really tasty empanadas and super cheap price, nuts that it was so empty when we were there. A few locals took takeaway but no one else sat in. We had two empanadas each and were too full to try the sweet empanadas for dessert (which sounded very good too) It’s open for breakfast and lunch 9-2pm.

I stumbled upon this Argentinian lady’s a hole in the wall place on my first day in Cusco. Ordered cheese empanada. The lady rolled up dough in front of me, filled it with fresh tomato, garlic, and cheese. Three minutes later fresh empanada with the black olive dip and fresh greens dip was in front of me. Price: eight soles. Best empanada I have ever eaten!

Googled best Empanada’s in Cusco Centre and stumbled across La Gaucha……….and they didn’t disappoint. Empanadas were delicious and freshly made as you wait. Superb service and amazing value for money.
