Overall the tour was great.. and we absolutely loved seeing the mountain and making the hike. We never would have been able to see it without the tour company. BUT.. the road was terribly bumpy and you couldn’t sleep because of that and the fact we were flying down roads on the edge of the cliff. We almost made it to the mountain when our back tires of our van flew off. This was very concerning.. as we drove the same van home and had to make multiple stops to tighten the tires. The hike was obviously difficult but we were all prepared for that. Although we were not educated enough on altitude sickness as all 3 my friends had sickness that night. The value for the price is unbeatable.. and you get two meals. Just make sure you bring layers, sunscreen and be ready...

Buyer beware! The tour operator booked us for Vinicunca promising several times that his guide would be able to get us to there using an alternate route accessible by ATV. Emerson Tupa who worked for the operator discussed with us that he was in contact with Arcturo the guide and that they had encountered protests the day before and that the guide would 100% be able to get through to the mountains. Once we had arrived at the path with the protests, Arcturo denied having any trouble getting through the day before: an obvious lie because the operator told us there were issues. The guide could not get us to Vinicunca because of the protests. Worse, none of the other passengers had been given any indication of trouble. This company has no trouble lying to customers....

I did the Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Tour with Roxana and Angel as our tour guides. Everything was perfectly organized and we had a wonderful sunny day there.

The pick-up time from your hostel is between 3 - 3:30 AM in Cusco which gets you there basically as the first group to hike rainbow mountain. So you’ll have it for yourself and your group before all the other tours from Cusco (usual pickup 4 -4:30 AM) start. So set an early alarm and do it with these guys.
