In real estate they say "location, location, location" and that is the best feature of Terra Sagrada Cusco. The hotel is well located just a few minutes walk from both the plaza mayor de cuzco and the plaza de san francisco points of interest,
The second best feature of this hotel is the beautiful courtyard garden with seating around the giant reina de la noche.
The third best feature was the firm but comfortable bed. It had lots of blankets and sufficient pillows to keep cozy and warm.
So why not 5 stars? To start, the hotel cancelled my reservation after confirming my arrival. So I stayed one night instead of 4 because they had no room for my entire stay when I arrived. This was in-part confusion checking messages through Booking.com but if you are going to use a platform, maybe check the messages. And after confirming late arrival over WhatsApp, don't cancel the reservation.
Second strike was the hotel locks the front doors at 9pm, which is a bit early and inconvenient. Especially since the hotel seems to share a wall with a discoteca that plays "boom chicka boom" until 2am that you can try and fall asleep to but I couldn't.
Third strike was the room itself. I'm going to say I got what I paid for on this one. This hotel wasn't expensive but it wasn't the cheapest either. The wifi was terrible, dropping, connecting, dropping, over and over. It was barely usable. When connected, the speed was so slow Google maps failed to load. The paint on the walls were peeling off, the chair in the room looked like it was from a thrift store and needed to be recovered. I decided it was best not to sit on it and used it to hold my luggage. The bathroom is very small for a 2 meter tall, 100 kg adule man. The toilet barely flushed which worried me every time I used it and usually had to flush twice. The shower didn't drain and even in a 5 minute shower I ended up standing in 10 cm of waste water.
This hotel is cold which I am discovering is normal in Cusco. Oh, and European plugs only. These last two are less about the hotel than a travel tip for others to be...
Read moreWe stayed here for a total of three nights, but not consecutively. We were given a spacious and clean Deluxe King Room on the first floor facing the pretty center courtyard and flower garden. It had plenty of large storage shelves, a small Desk to work on, and a super-comfy bed. The Bathroom was tiny and had few amenities, but we are accustomed to carrying our own products, so that was not much of an issue. The Hotel is literally on the street, but we felt secure because they locked the large gates, and everyone had to ring a bell to get inside.||The location of this hotel was just perfect – close to the Airport and Train Station, and a short walking distance from all the major Attractions and Restaurants.||They offered free Wi—Fi and Continental Breakfast. Unfortunately, our early morning Tours did not give us time for breakfast in the dining room, but they were kind enough to pack us a goody bag to take with us every morning. They even held our large bags at the hotel for us, free of charge, on the two days that we left for Machu Piccchu. Now, THAT is service.||A particularly warm shout-out to the incredible staff. They all made us feel welcome from the time we checked-in to the time we checked-out. Juliana, Jasmina at the Front Desk and Saul from the kitchen were always polite, always smiling, and always ready and willing to help us out in anything and everything that we needed. ||We recommend this place wholeheartedly to other guests, and will have no hesitation in...
