Pros of staying here are mostly location being very close to the main square/shopping/restaurants. They also offer tours through the hotel which is convenient. However, the cons far outweigh the pros. The hotel is extremely loud unless you are lucky enough to get one of the rooms in the back of the hotel. Majority of the rooms you can hear all noise from the lobby which goes on during all hours of the night from people talking, playing music, etc. If you do stay here, make sure you bring ear plugs. I would not recommend using the laundry services here. While our clothes were returned well cleaned, some of the other people in our group had clothes both lost and delivered to the wrong hotel, which caused them to not have any clothes for 3 days when they should have been returned within 24 hours. Lastly, the customer service is very bad, do not expect them to adequately resolve issues for you. When I was originally booking my room 2 months in advance, the website glitched and accidentally double booked me. I immediately notified the hotel that I was wrongly double booked and only needed one room. They told me it was non-refundable, and I had to argue with them in order to allegedly get the room cancelled. I never did get the refund and had to dispute it with my credit card. When I showed up to check in months later, they still had two rooms under my name when they originally told me that it had been cancelled and only one room was reserved. Also, during a massage at the hotel, the massage therapist removed my necklace and put it somewhere that I couldn't see. At the end of the massage, I forgot the necklace was removed and since I couldn't see it, I forgot to ask about it. I checked out the next morning and later that day when I realized the necklace was gone, I sent them a whatsapp message about the necklace and I was told "We have your necklace at the front desk, do not worry." I told them I would be hiking the Inca trail but could be back to get it in 4 days. 4 days later I go to get it and they have no idea what happened to the necklace. The poor girl that was handed the necklace at the front desk was held responsible by management and sent me almost half the cost of the necklace from her personal funds. This seems very odd and unprofessional for a hotel chain that charges a significant amount of money for their rooms to make their front desk employee personally pay me back for this. As someone who has traveled the world and stayed in all sorts of hotels and hostels, I have truly never had an experience like...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER. The WORST Selina I've ever stayed at for many reasons. In the 2 weeks I was there, there were only 2 activities at the Selina. A game night and karaoke night. When I asked staff where the game night was, none of them seemed to know anything about it, so I wasn't able to go. Selina's pride themselves on the community they build within the hostel with the activities they provide, which did not happen at this Selina. Also, there were many times they just weren't serving food. Once, I asked for a bowl of fruit at like 10:05, but was told that since breakfast had ended at 10 I couldn't get that (which fruit can be eaten any time of the day, not like I was asking for a pancake or something). Okay. So I asked if I could order lunch food, I was told no because lunch hadn't opened up yet. So could I order anything? Nope. Speaking of their food, it made me extremely sick, so much so I ended up in the hospital and had to end my stay 2 weeks early. The day I left I asked the receptionist if there was any way I could receive a refund because of the circumstances of me leaving. I told him if I needed to provide my medical records I would. He did not tell me I needed to provide any records, instead he gave me a number to text. I messaged this number multiple times. I never received any messages back. I stated in my messages to them that I could provide medical records if they needed me to. I then found a customer support email, on my own, and reached out to them. They messaged back and said that this Selina had reached out and asked me to provide my medical records, which they did not do in person or after I had sent multiple messages, and that since the "month had closed out it would be "difficult" to get a refund now." I messaged the day I left this Selina, and again later, not my fault I was never messaged back. Would NEVER recommend this Selina. I know they made double off of my private room too, the 2 weeks I paid for but couldn't be there because their food made me sick, and whoever else booked that room since I was not in it. I have loved my stays at other Selina's, but this one had the WORST customer service and I did not enjoy my time here for the many reasons I listed. I have now also been ghosted by the customer service reps when I sent proof of never being contacted by this Selina about...
