Johnny Rockets — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

I’m so sad to report that Johnny Rockets was super disappointing. It’s the third time I’ve been in the last year and requested the “beyond burger” and they continue to not have it, so I had to settle for a soy burger, which arrived freeze-burned and super hard - almost inedible. The fries were good And they do have Dr Pepper, which is a very rare treat for me. The menu plates are just OK - nothing spectacular and expensive for what it is. They don’t have any cherry flavored anything and it’s been a couple of times visiting that they don’t have any cherry flavored shake or soda.

It’s such a standardized experience in the United States but I imagine it’s hard to acquire all the ingredients here so I understand , yet if they are consistently going to be out of things listed on the menu, they should take them off. The atmosphere is fun as a typical of Johnny Rockets, but they had a huge lunch rush to come in and it was annoying that they sat the huge table right next to us. We could hardly hear each other’s conversation over all the noise. There was plenty of other space in the restaurant and they could’ve accommodated them elsewhere, people kept bumping into us of the service staff and people seated at the...

I’ve been to Johnny Rockets in America and in South America. This place is doing a great job.

The food was really delicious. I got the chicken strips and they were cooked well and the fries are awesome. I love the fact that you can get real cherry Coke here. Also, my wife has been here a couple of different times trying to order the Philly cheesesteak, and it is never available. They might need to update the menu if items are no longer available.

The atmosphere is really nice. It’s clean. It’s got the retro vibe that you’re looking for from this kind of theme restaurant. The only issue I really had with the atmosphere is the music they’re playing a lot of modern hip-hop, music, and when you go to a place like Johnny Rockets, you expect music from the 1950s (the big bopper,Chubby Checker, Elvis Presley etc.) also I would’ve loved to sit at the counter, but they have no stools at this long, beautiful counter.

Ambientado como los clásicos restaurantes de carretera de los 70's en estados unidos. Un ambiente agradable con un "Hola Hola" te da la bienvenida; al sentarse se presenta "Jota" (su atención es espectacular) y te entrega la carta, te menciona las ofertas y te deja para que elijas.

Mi hija eligió rápido, una Royal Burger con Shake de Vainilla; llega el pedido y Jota le hace una carita de gato con ketchup en un plato para salsas; mi enana de 10 se siente feliz y comienza a disfrutar su pedido.

Mi esposa y yo demoramos en elegir, hay una gran variedad de platos que te llenan los ojos; al fin elije un Sándwich con Onion Rings, Tocino, queso Cheddar, Salsa Ahumada y doble carne; la acompaño con Gaseosa (la cual tiene refill ilimitado) con sabor de cereza (luego se pidió con vainilla)... Me dijo que estuvo deliciosa, aunque creo que para ella fue demasiado con doble carne pues le costó terminarla (dejando un poco de pan).

Cómo siempre y debido a que ya anteriormente habíamos ido a comer (me había pedido un sándwich de carne mechada con queso, que estuvo normal y una malteada con fresas y leche condensada, que fue demasiado dulce... Ese día no fue tan asombroso, malas elecciones) me demore en elegir: Pedí una Route 66 con adicional de Carne en tiras y gracias a la recomendación de Jota le añadí Palta (muy buena recomendación); la intención de ir al Johny Rockets era por que se me había antojado una malteada, pero tienen tantas que otra vez estaba con la indecisión... Jota al rescate, en base a mi pedido cárnico me recomienda la Butterfinger y le hice caso para probar... Esperemos el pedido (los cuales llegan rápido y el mío llego con el de mi esposa)

Llega el pedido, la Route 66 se ve brutalmente enorme y deliciosa, con ambas manos junto los panes para de un solo bocado sentir la hamburguesa, carne en tiras, queso, champiñones salteados, cebolla caramelizada y la palta: Una explosión de sabores en boca y mis manos se bañan en jugos provenientes de la carne y acompañamientos, el sabor espectacular, la palta le dió un toque fresco al sándwich, cargado con alto Umami hace que no pueda dejar de disfrutarla y así fué comencé y la terminé; cayeron jugos, carne en tiras, queso, champiñones, cebolla, paltita, todo sobre las papas fritas que venían con el plato; fue como volver a disfrutar el sándwich pero con papas en lugar de panes... Me imagino volver a pedirlo pero sobre unas papas Tumbay (que también venden) y sin panes... Debe ser glorioso, como una Route 66 Al plato.

Antes de terminar esta historia sobre la aventura familiar en Johny Rockets, donde todos disfrutamos, voy a contarles que las recomendaciones de Jota estuvieron de primera, la malteada se volvió enviciante, tanto que deje de tomarla para dar paso a la Hamburguesa y disfrutar plenamente como si fuese un postre, pero de esos que me agradan, con el justo dulce para que no empalage, fue un cierre majestuoso, haciendo de esta segunda experiencia en Johny Rockets una noche que nos dejó con la sensación de volver a...
