Okay hear me out, you NEED to visit Shi-Nua. I went to Shi-Nua with my boyfriend for a little date night and eventhough we had a little misunderstanding with my reservation which the person outside couldn’t find, they were very polite and gave us another table anyways, I would’ve like to be in the middle of the place where they have a hug gorgeous cherry blossom tree but that’s okay. We ordered pulled pork min pao, OH-MY-GOSH, it was the softest thing I’ve ever put in my mouth, we enjoyed every-single bite of it. Amazing! The dim sum was great too, highly recommend dipping it on a the hoisin sauce. Then we had fried orange chicken with fried rice, the fried rice was delicious!! It came with chicken, shrimp and pork, the pork had a VERY pleasant taste. To drink we ordered Chinese lychee and lemonade, my boyfriend regretted not getting the Lychee so don’t make the same mistake 😅. And finally our dessert, Cherry Blossom, a beautiful / playful cup with different textures of chocolate 70% and 40%, cherry sorbete and cottom candy. This dessert brough us so much happiness. Overall, incredible place, a little bit pricey but worth...

However we felt very underwhelmed with the main courses and the service. For mains, the chop suey was ok but very salty and almost sickeningly sweet. The chaufa rice was ok but nothing to write home about; wonton soup was incredibly salty and tasted awful.
Additionally for service we felt very let down. There was a language barrier, with our group primary speaking English except for one member who was bilingual in Spanish. Despite correcting the server several times in English and Spanish, he included a dish we had chosen to no longer order and left off a dish we had ordered.
I would give Shi-Nua a miss if you like tasty food over catchy...

More formal and fancy than I was expecting. My only complaint is the Peruvian way of pressuring you into a tip right in front of your face when settling the bill at the table. I’m fine with tipping, but they literally tell you what to tip, then start typing it in before you even respond. He also told me to tip in cash. When I said I didn’t have any, he then tapped it into the device before I even replied. This occurs any time you pay with a credit card in Peru, but at the high end restaurants they’re way more aggressive. Same thing at Maido. I don’t think they understand how awkward and...
