Landed in Lima at a pre-booked hotel, wasn't quite what we expected. Googled and found Los Tallanes in another neighborhood, more centrally. Took a taxi, stepped into the front desk and asked if they had any available room. Was offered a suite to a very good price. After a five-day trip up the mountains, we returned and were booked into an even better and bigger suite. Left part of our baggage at the hotel while we explored the mountins,( no extra charge)||Extremely clean, friendly and attentive staff. Read moreI stayed here for nearly three months in 2019 and, from very early on in my stay, Los Tallanes felt like home. Huge, comfortable bedroom suites, which are spotlessly cleaned. Shower was good and hot and the wifi was strong and stable most of the time.||||Breakfast is good quality and the restaurant peaceful. But most of all, the staff are wonderful. I had to spend some time in hospital during my stay and the Los Tallanes team went above and beyond to make sure I was okay, both whilst I was in hospital and once I got back to the hotel. Read moreStayed here for a week + for a business meeting. Previously I had stayed at the Swissotel which also touts itself as a 5 star. I would say the Swissotel is definitely nicer. ||||I stayed in the new wing, and rooms were okay, but no mini-bar snacks, no room service menu (I had to ask for one, the first night they stood at my door and just recited what was available for breakfast). ||||Gym is pretty pathetic (like 4 machines) and pool is just a wade pool, can't swim in it.||||When I was able to get room service food was decent, although I only got things that were fried so it's hard to mess up...
