Nestled in the charming town of Aguas Calientes, La Boulangerie de Paris is a delightful gem that every traveler should visit. This quaint coffee shop, conveniently located near the train station and just across the bridge, offers a perfect spot to relax and enjoy some of the best pastries and beverages. Upon entering, you're greeted by the irresistible aroma of freshly baked croissants and rich coffee. The croissants here are simply divine, with a perfect balance of flakiness and buttery goodness. The pain au chocolat, in particular, stands out as one of the best I've ever had – it's an absolute must-try.
The coffee is equally impressive, providing a robust and smooth complement to the pastries. For those who prefer a lighter refreshment, the juice options are fresh and invigorating, offering a delightful burst of flavor.
La Boulangerie de Paris's location is another highlight. Being so close to the train station makes it a convenient stop for both arriving and departing travelers. Despite Aguas Calientes being a small town, this café is easy to find and definitely...
Read moreAfter four days of hiking the Salkantay Trek, as good French travelers, we were craving something comforting and searched for a “boulangerie” on Google Maps. La Boulangerie de Paris was a delightful surprise for such a remote location.

The friends we made during the trek joined us as well, crowding the small space, but the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. Together, we tried a variety of items: cookies, Danish bread (which could have used a bit more cream), maracuya cheesecake, burgers, fries, Nutella and cheese crêpes, and more frappés. Everything—except for the Danish bread—was truly excellent.
To be fair, I may be slightly biased as a Frenchman, and a very hungry one on this occasion, but this spot really hit the mark after days of rice and chicken. Highly recommended if you’re in Aguas Calientes before or after visiting...

Google says they’re open, but we went and they have a sign on the door saying they’re closed for a remodel. A lot of the best restaurants in Aguas Calientes are closed for the month of February because it’s the low season, so keep that in mind when googling places that even though they say open they might be closed, which is a bummer bc sometimes you have to walk the 10 min just to find out...
