not a fan of leaving bad reviews for vegan restaurants, as I am an animal right supporter and love supporting these places, but here we go:
We tried the mushroom-ceviche for 32 sol, expensive but we were willing to try as the reviews were great and I wanted to introduce my non-vegan friend to some typical peruvian dishes. Well what came was a mountain of onions, with some mushrooms and 2 pieces of sweet potato. the sauce was incredibly sour to a point where we simply couldn't eat the dish. Have in mind that we are 2 budget travellers who usually eat pasta with tomato-sauce to save our money. So the bar was set very low, we are not fussy eaters at all!
Well our second dish was better luckily, it was the Tacu Tacu. A bit salty and not many vegetables except for onions again, but next to our horrible ceviche it was a blessing.
2 drinks, chica with the blue corn flavour came and it was simply a syrup, we mixed it with 60% water to get it down. But i'm not even blaming the restaurant for the drinks as that might be down to personal taste. The ceviche on the other hand was inedible, honistly. Left all of it, no discount. Fair enough.
Don't come here, honestly. Just try some local vegetarian places, mention you're vegan and you'll get great affordable vegetable-dishes and support people...
Read moreWow this is the most disappointing place I've ever eaten. Save yourself a lot of money and find food elsewhere. My meal was EXPENSIVE- And the menu reads very well and fancy so I thought - yes let's splurge. Well was 100% not worth it. What did I pay 32 soles for? A boringly cooked and plated plantain, 6 French fries, a mountain of dry white rice, and a vegan "steak" that was a small, dry as hell, bean and lentil based patty. The total cost for something so bland, dry, and mediocre as that should be 8 soles at best. My boyfriend ordered a not vegan chifa inspired dish and was equally dissatisfied. Not to mention my vegan meal (which the waitress suggested) was served with not vegan mayo. The service was slow- our overpriced drinks sat for 5 minutes on the bar before they actually made it to us. This place really should feel ashamed and embarrassed. We watched two other tables struggle through their meals and one whole table didn't even eat more than two bites! So much wasted potential on what should've been a...
Read moreWe had a great time here. We ordered food but two tour groups ordered before us so our food took longer than expected. This being said the staff was super attentive and apologetic. They kept on updating on the situation and even offered us complimentary drinks. The owner was super funny and entertaining. The food was great, especially the Taku Taku which was bomb! The address is correct but you can easily miss the restaurant, you have to take the lift to the 5th floor. Also the place is great as it caters to vegan...
