The worst dining experience anywhere in the world was at the restaurant wannabe at the new International Airport in Lima, Peru on Thursday, June 19th, not even in Africa, Southeast Asia or anywhere in the third world. They are useless, arrogant, rude, improvised and dismissive. My sister and I went there for what was supposed to be the beginning of a well-deserved vacation, only for us to wait like 10 minutes for a "waiter" to come, take our order (a cocktail, a cafe con leche, a sandwich and an Aji de gallina, as well as a bottle of water and some ice) which never really came, none of it. He never came to check on us or checked what was going on with our order. He was extremely busy walking around charging other clients and closing their bills, it seemed that nothing really matters other than the money and their tips. After 25 more minutes of waiting for the liquids, I flagged for several times and minutes at different "waiters", all I got was to be ignored. Finally, 10 more minutes later, the so-called waiter happened to be passing by our table, so I reminded him of our drinks, nothing happened. Ten minutes later, another "waiter" showed up with our solid food!! No drinks at all. I told him that was unacceptable to which he responded, "let me bring those to you right away", I simply told him that we were just going to leave, something they were happy to hear!!! The explanation to this rehearsed behavior came up later. We left and were extremely frustrated and somewhat bitter with the whole experience. So, I decided to request the "Libro de reclamaciones" (Complaining Report Book). I was taken to a woman who was supposed to oversee the whole venue. I started explaining to her what had developed only for her to stare me in the eye and say in a very soft voice "We are sorry", I continued explaining to her in Spanish my frustration, however, at some point a little English slipped out which caused a smirk in her face, a smirk saying "So you think you are all that because now you are a Peruvian living abroad", a recurrent reaction among certain specific demographic groups in Peru. From then on, she just stared at me non-apologetically. I finally got the Complaining Report Book, wrote some of my experience, gave them my information, with no result or reaction on their part whatsoever. All personnel could not care less about their incompetence. They walked around with total disregard as to where they went wrong and even less with any desire to make things right. The food in Peru is very good but let us not lose perspective: There are fantastic cuisines all over the world as well. This poor excuse for a restaurant seems to believe that people eat to fill up their bellies and that's that. They do seem to see a dining experience as that: a whole experience. The desperation they show for the tips and extra money in their pockets is uncanny. Once something goes wrong, they flee like there is a fire. No training nor behaviors that are intelligent enough to critically think, even less problem-solving abilities. Shame on this restaurant wannabe. My shoes will never set foot in such a primitive, unsophisticated, careless, money-making venue and will always tell everyone NOT to visit such a place. Please, read the reviews, mine is one of many reporting the very same thing The new airport is Ok, but it will always be underdeveloped unless...
Read moreSo I went there for my birthday and can’t say I had a great time.
First, the weirdest part was the wait on 3 beers, 2 bottled ones and one from the tap, taking over 20 minutes. Literally the first thing we ordered took 20 minutes, which is insane for a very simple order and they were not as busy.
Ordered: fettuccini with huancaina sauce, prawn and mushrooms, but the huancaina sauce was too overpowering, and could feel the prawn or mushroom flavour. Also was very expensive, for not much food, I ordered 2 breast filled alongside and each one was 16 soles. Otherwise you are in a great protein imbalance. fried squid, was the entree, and it was nice, probably the best item in the entrees. the beer was from two, and it was ok.
The atmosphere was ok, sadly, empty tables around with food left on them for a long time make the place look a bit cheap, the majestic views all lost in something so simple.
The service was ok, for the place but I didn’t fine the staff friendly.
Would not go again for an overpriced meal with bad environment, food on the floor and not really friendly staff. If you want to go for a single coffee and then leave, and have some nice table views, then probably worth it, but there are better place around with better views in the...
Read moreI do not give 5 stars basically because of 3 reasons
We ordered a burger cooked medium well and it was almost raw in the inside. The outside looked well done.
The onion soup was good but too small. I would say a bit overpriced, if we consider the size of the plate
The tables have sticker with a QR code for the menu. There are really good options in there, but we couldn't order them, because the menu there is not valid. Why they don't take the stickers out if they are not valid?
Anyway, i was tempted to put 3 starts instead of 4, but i have to say that all of the rest was a great experience:
Our waiter Alejandro was really nice, very funny, offered good service.
The place and the music very well set up.
The rest of the food and drinks really good (the salmon Tartar and Tequeños, very simple choices, very...
