WILL NOT RECOMMEND.
8 and 9 year old kids are considered and charged as adults.
We tried the buffet. It was so-so.
We were surprised to see that the (two) 8 and 9-year olds who came with us were charged as adults.
They barely ate anything because the meat (especially the beef) was hard to chew because the slices were too thick unlike in other Korean buffets. We thought it's okay since they're charged less which was a fair price anyway. BUT NO, they were charged the full amount.
I asked the staff why they were charged as adults when it says "children" 299 in their tarp.
They said because they based it on height and insisted that only kids 3 feet and below are free.
Which then led me to think that okay, so then the kids will then fall under the "children" category. As they should. But they insisted that they were considered adults. So I clarified again what the difference were between adults and children.
Well, the staff did not care to answer so I asked to speak to the manager.
The manager (Korean with glasses) came out really arrogant and had an aura as if he was ready to fight.
Politely, we told him that we were just confused and really wanted to know why the kids were charged as adults. He said because they are not children anymore, they are kids. ????
We asked "Is an 8 or 9-year old not a child?" As we were led to think that it's by age. And we said, "If you then base the categories by height, where is it written?" It's not in the tarp, not in the menu, nowhere.
Then he walked away and went back to playing or whatever on his phone. We asked the staff what just happened and they were all trying to avoid us.
We paid the bill and told the staff that their tarp was confusing and suggested that they put a disclaimer so it's not too misleading because apparently, 8 and 9 year old kids aren't considered children. 8 and 9 YEAR OLD KIDS are considered ADULTS. 🤦♀️
I can't imagine the shock the family next to us will have when they get charged for 3 adults rather than 3 kids. How much more for tourists?
It's not that we don't or can't pay the bill. We paid it in full and left a tip.
I've been eating in this restaurant for years since I was in College. We even shop in their mini grocery and have conversations with his mom or aunt??? the lady there.
I just wanted to point out that they should avoid misleading customers. Kawawa naman mga nakabudget lalo if tourists. But no, what we got was an arrogant manager and rude staff telling us...

Hi, we would like to make everyone aware that you should stay away from Woodnyph in MCO if you are looking for a family friendly spot. This used to be our go-to place in Baguio but quality of everything severely deteriorated. If you can check all other reviews that are good are from 2yrs ago. All recent ones are a clear warning to steer away.
Unprofessional owner. Walks out when you try to have a conversation with him.We tried their buffet, everything else from the rice, other entries, everything was cold. The grilled meat was low quality and thickly sliced to ensure that you are discouraged to go for a second plate.
Also there is a sign there that the price for children is cheaper price but when it was time to pay they suddenly said that they are classifying the children as adults. We told them that we are with 8 yearolds and they are clearly children.
So the staff called the owner. Initially we were trying to get an explanation on why they are charging us adult prices for children who barely ate anything. Then he wasn't explaining at all he just said that they are adults and they are charged with the adult price.
I am a person known for my long patience but I can't help to ask him if he would consider 8 yearolds adults as he was insistent they were adults. Maybe in 10 years they would be. So instead of giving us an explanation, he just decided to walk out and his staff doesn't even know what they should do next.
The money wasn't the issue here. It is the way they do business. We paid everything is full and even gave a tip for the waiter who was just caught in the middle but I want to warn everyone from this establishment's unfair practice of serving LOW quality thickly cut(like almost for adobo cut) meat for their grill and Baguio weather cold viands from yesterday to the charging of small, and I repeat, small little children adult prices for their cold buffet. And lastly, the rude Korean owner who just walked out and went back to playing his cellphone and left his staff not knowing what to do.
Keep away!!! Well, to give points to this place, it has an outdoor setup so if you want the worst experience and a cozy outdoor vibe, maybe you can try it out yourself and I'm sure to see you here with your awesome review. You have...
Read moreMy dad thinks it's the best Korean buffet in Baguio. Well, I haven't been to enough places to share the same verdict, but I've been to a couple Korean buffets and other buffets as well. Woodnymph is quite a refreshing hangout place. Even with many people, in my opinion, it doesn't feel too crowded. Maybe because I enjoy being surrounded with flawless Korean faces? Kidding aside, the location is really good. Ambiance is not captivating, but I liked it. I've been to a K-buffet in the past where we were literally served by our personal server with unli food. But we had to ask her to bring in more of what we wanted, which was quite awkward for introverts who just want to keep the food coming. But Woodnymph, just like most traditional buffets, lets you get your food from a buffet table and bring it to your spot to grill on a hot plate. You get zero unwanted assistance, but staff will gladly help if you want them to. Place is quite clean, including the comfort rooms. Not squeaky clean, but clean enough to not go ikk! Also, teen fans of K-pop may go gaga over the buffet wall filled with k-pop posters lol. Food is quite good (not the biggest fan of Korean food), but I just wasn't into the flavor profile of some side dishes. But all flavors are up to our liking, I suppose. You have to try it to know if it's...
