Botejyu SM City Grand Central — Restaurant in Caloocan

Our experience is somehow very frustrating. We ordered @ around 5:35 pm (shown on the receipt). We know that all the menus are made to order and yeah we get that concept. We patiently waited and the food partially arrived. We started to eat and few minutes later we noticed that there is one more pending order which is the garlic rice (highlighted in the receipt). We ask the server (Darlene, if we are not mistaken) where is our pending order and she responded it’s almost ready, this is after almost an hour of waiting, we are all done eating and the pending order hasn’t arrive. We requested to take away the pending order so we can leave. Order finally arrived… Total waiting time for 1 garlic rice is exactly 1hr 6mins. We ask another staff why we have to wait that long for a garlic rice? And she said all are made to order that is why it’s taking time, well that is not a good excuse. Obviously you are short in manpower. I also mentioned to her that there is a lurking cockroach next to my daughter and she responded that the pest control are scheduled tomorrow for this reason. Boteyju has been my all time favorite go to when it comes to authentic Japanese savory ramen especially pork tonkotsu Ramen, fresh tuna and salmon sashimi. My favorite branch is at Ayala Manila Bay where services is as outstanding as it's food. ❤️ I am just surprised to know that Boteyju Grand Central has failed to showcase the same kind of service Boteyju has been known for. Around 5:45 PM today Nov 5, 2024 the restaurant is less than half filled and not busy and yet nobody was available at its customer counter to give us a seat. The staff were on the side unmindful of us waiting around 5 minutes. We took it upon ourselves to take a seat and waived unrelenting until we got their attention. The staff smirked in a discourteous demeanor and gave us the menu. We are not used to this kind of service from Boteyju. I approached Manager Alike and narrated to her our disappointment. She apologized for our awful experience today. I suggest intensive training to staff to provide us with the same quality of services to your loyal customers. Its 5/10 for me, the food is honestly just mid. I like their chicken skewers and tempura, pero yung iba nilang dish may mga lasa, like yung California rolls, medyo malansa even the octopus inside the takoyaki. Their pork tonkotsu ramen, you can taste the smokiness from the pork its kinda good but too heavy for me, the thing that destroyed that ramen is the pork, the taste is a bit off and weird, its like its been stored for too long (ngl kyukyu ramen is better lol). It made me wished that should’ve eaten somewhere else, I kinda now get why it’s so deserted.

The service, s’kay but there were some idk if they are servers, they wore grey shirts or something and they’re arguing loudly in front like hello? There are customers here (I don’t mean to sound entitled😬)
