When we were in Santa Fe, Bantayan, we decided to have dinner at Meldy’s Eatery—and it did not disappoint! This popular carinderia is well-loved for its seafood cooked the way you like it. You can even buy your own fresh catch and have it prepared sutukil-style (sugba, tula, kilaw).

We ended up with a feast of grilled squid, garlic butter shrimp, fish tinola, kinilaw, grilled scallops, grilled pork, and assorted barbecue. Simple setup, yes—but the flavors and generous servings made it one of the most satisfying meals we had in Sta. Fe.

The staff are friendly and accommodating, making the whole dining experience feel warm and local. It’s also a spot frequented by both locals and tourists, which says a lot about its reputation.

I don’t want to harm this small eatery’s reputation, but I feel it’s important to share our experience. My friends and I came here to eat barbecue. The food itself was great—delicious and satisfying.

However, we noticed something very concerning: one of the displayed chicken barbecues had visible fly eggs on it. We immediately informed the lady at the stall, and she quickly removed the item. Still, it was quite disgusting and alarming.

Just imagine if we weren’t paying attention and had just picked it without looking—we could have unknowingly eaten it.

To the owners: please make sure the display area where you keep the barbecues is properly covered and protected from flies. We truly hope this was an isolated incident, and we wish you the best in improving your...

Filipinos restaurant ! So every day arrival of fish, crustaceans and fresh shellfish we cut in front of you big slices of mackerel and tuna fish fresh salmon from the sea ... ( barracudas sometimes! ) big prawns also sometimes when we start to be known (they see you coming from afar... they are obviously commercial but really nice team ! ) they go to a lot of effort to make a dish with extra (olive oil egg plants with leeks onions and garlic) be careful ... you have to ask specifically and not what's in the deventures ! With an additional fee but the price rest really affordable ... so it's very good for vegetarians and lovers...
