Unfortunately underwhelming. You would expect something amazing for a breakfast at the hotel charging you $400 a night, especially if you have been to other locations. Firstly - massive queue. I understand it's a big hotel, nonetheless did not enjoy that. The staff was helpful though and they knew what they were doing. Arrangement of the interior is a bit odd. I had my eggs and found it weird that there was no bread. It was only when I went to get fruit, it turned out bread was on the other side of the dessert station. Secondly food taste: I appreciated freshly squeezed juice, the quality of fruit - not so much. Maki sushi station didn't make any sense, especially it was just with some veggies and canned tuna. 2 omlette stations were great for the size of the restaurant. Needed to ask for salt and pepper as there wasn't any at the table, salt shaker was clogged due to humidity AND looked like they had only one because staff came and asked for it back! My facial expression must have been precious because my gf bursted laughing when she saw me trying coffee.. All in all pretty good, if you pay up to a $100 for a night, Shangri-La standards -...
Read moreExcellent food, great variety, and unmatched service. The breakfast and dinner buffet became our go-to!
I fell in love with this place and the people and teams who made the place amazing! Want to recognize some individuals who made the breakfast/dinner experience memorable.
Herley - Thank you for accommodating my two sons who were asleep in their strollers / chairs by bringing pillows and allowing them to lay down comfortably on a nearby couch so we can enjoy/finish our dinner!
Nickmar & Joevic - Appreciate you noticing that our hands were full with three kids, helping us bring back more food than we could on our own and checking on us frequently!
Raymund - Thank you for finding me fresh mangosteen after another group cleared them out! The way you manage and lead your team by example was inspiring!
Jal - Thank you for your attentiveness and willingness to answer questions about the meat preparations and also delivering the waygu to our table so we didn’t have to wait!
Rizzi & Anthon - The omelette station and delivery was eggcellent! Thanks
Rae - I noticed how hard you worked to make sure all patrons were taken care...
Read moreTides at Shangri-La stands out from other buffets in Cebu. While the variety may be more limited compared to other buffets, every dish is crafted with remarkable flavor and attention to detail. This focus on quality over quantity makes Tides one of the best buffet options in Cebu, offering a dining experience that truly excels in taste and refinement.
The staff services are also top notch! They are very friendly and accommodating, and truly make you feel welcome at this place.
One thing worth noting is the atmosphere. As part of the older Shangri-La property, Tides may have once boasted a swanky interior in its heyday, but the ambiance now feels somewhat dated and in need of a refresh.
Overall, Tides at Shangri-La offers a dining experience that prioritizes quality food and exceptional service. While the ambiance could use a refresh, the outstanding flavors and warm hospitality more than make up for it, making it a top choice for those seeking a delicious buffet...
