We dined at Coco Cebu and had an extremely confusing dining experience. Whilst the food was acceptable, the portions were pretty small for the price. Amongst all the food items, we ordered the T bone steak and Siningang.
The sinangang was not served and were informed that they have forgotten about it when we reminded them of the dish.
We came in a party of 8 adults and 6 kids. We ordered the 1.7kg T-Bone steak (p9,990) as our main to celebrate our last night in Cebu. However after waiting for a long time (with no other patrons in the restaurant), our T-Bone was served. However, it was significantly smaller than advertised. The restaurant later confirmed that this was a 800g T-bone which was served to us, as the 1.7kg Tbone was not available. But this was only after the steak was served to us. The restaurant failed to inform us of the availability of their food items and waitress confirmed that in our bill she had included and billed us for 1.7kg T Bone which was P9,990. Should we have known the 1.7kg TBone was not available, we would have adjusted our food orders accordingly.
Strange enough, we were informed a couple minutes later that a tomahawk of 1.7kg was available and it would be prepared promptly.
At the end of the day, the smaller dish was given complimentary as a service recovery, and the tomahawk tasted decent (albeit at room temperature likely because it was cooked from a frozen state).
The 2 experiences above were extremely bizarre and we left unsure if the restaurant was trying to pull a fast one on guests thinking no one will realize a dish was missing from the frenzy, and if guests would not have realised that they were served a significantly smaller piece of meat until confronted.
The place is also not child friendly at all with no kids cutlery available.
I will not recommend this place to any individual who wishes to dine at this restaurant. Prices are high and service is also slow on top of all we have experienced. I cannot comment on authenticity of google reviews (of which most reviewers have given 1 review on google) at this establishment but it is rather odd to have so many reviews despite the restaurant having only opened 3 months ago from...
Read moreWe had high expectations of this restaurant due to the reviews, but unfortunately we were filled with so much disappointment. We arrived 7pm exactly, the staff said waiting time is 30-35 minutes but they will try to serve as early2 as they can. Our food arrived at 7:50PM! and our orders kept coming one by one at LONG INTERVALS, we did not enjoy the meal anymore. The chicken was very dry and weird like it was old stock and reheated (see photo). The cheesy scallops were ok but the scallop meat itself was VERY SMALL you can almost not find it nor taste it.The plate of the sizzling sisig did not 'sizzle' at all causing the raw egg to be uncooked. Worse part, it was 8:10pm already the pineapple rice did not arrive at all (rice is supposed to be served first for us to pair with other food 😳) we decided to not wait for it and cancelled.
Most of all: Please give your customers bread or appetizer if you let them wait 1 hour for their food.
The place looks nice & fancy, but we would not go back because of this experience.
