Read moreThe positive feedback from my sight: Funny names of the drinks. At night, lots of people, quite busy, usually fridays less crowd. The menu is really creative and the space is kind of crowded because it is a bar after all. The music vibe so pumped and clubbin' with DJ twists. Jungle atmosphere area with great geometric drawings on walls as designs. The tacos are soo delicious! Also the chicharon is so huuge. I highly recommend ordering the tacos. One of the owners gave us a compliment Moët bottle which is a nice gesture.
There has been some complications. 1.Even though the menu was creative, the drinks were awful. I even tried the ritual ang Agimat, it tasted really bad. We placed 2 cakes in their fridge. The first cake took a while to bring with the lit candles, plates and forks. We asked for the 2nd cake but the waiter never got back. She left it so she can pick it up another day but sadly your staff threw it away.. A cake because of "storage space". That is just BS and awful, throwing away without asking us. However, will be given a refund. We booked your place and your staff told us they would have only 22 people allowed upstairs. But unfortunately, there were a lot of people. Next to us, people were smoking their tobacco and cigars.. like why. It smelt awful. Smoking in a closed area and we were really crowded. That stench is unbearable! The waiter put the wrong stuff in the receipt and it was overpriced comparison to the menu prices. He comes and goes or never comes back. Bad service I'd say. We requested for music but never played any of it. They gave us the drinks without glasses and we had to ask over and over again and it took so long.
Fix your customer service issues and change the drinks. Make booze taste better! Sodas matching with vodka and...
Read moreBeen there first during their opening weeks in 2018, returned after 5 years.
While the food is still innovative and represents the vide array of Filipino Cuisine in a tasty way, the atmosphere unfortunately has changed significantly. We came on an ordinary Monday night and the place was packed. While the restaurant cannot control its obviously high reputation, it could control its seating arrangement. The once charming surrounding was stacked up with too many and tables.
After we got our second serving, a singer songwriter would start his set in the middle of the rather small location. Whilst his performance was good on its own, any conversation over dinner was basically not possible anymore from the moment he started singing. He would even invite for other guest to join the “open mic”. Really out of place with the ambiance.
I generally like music a lot but that time it did more harm than good. The coherence experienced in 2018 has completely vanished. Agimat now is a place that cannot fully decide on what It wants to be. A high class restaurant aiming for higher positions on 50 Best with out of the box food? A Filipino restaurant with a Pub character and exceptional food? Or a bar-resto promoting its own liquors with little advertisement triangles on each table.
Nothing against a change here if it came in a coherent way. I miss the old agimat, where the culture was showcased in a less imposing and more elegant way.
and maybe when you do the effort to order in Tagalog (as a foreigner), it would be appreciated to not be laughed at by the waiter for...
