We were cat-called by a waiter as we walked by. Might as well check it out, right? Nothing says “welcome to an upscale steakhouse” like cringeworthy compliments from a stranger in an empty restaurant. The only other patrons were a single couple — not exactly the buzz you’d expect at a supposed world-class spot. Atmosphere points down.
We ordered the 1kg steak and the bill came to ₱9,000+ (misleadingly priced too). Sure, they’ll tell you it’s “prime beef,” but for that money I expect something that floors me. Instead, it was… fine. Not bad, just laughably poor value for money. I’ve had steaks at Peter Luger in New York (where Wolfgang himself once worked), CUT by Wolfgang Puck in Vegas, and Rockpool Bar & Grill in Sydney — and compared to those, this was more “meh” than memorable.
Dining “in private”? Forget it. Two to three waiters hovered a few feet from our table the entire time, like they were auditioning for a security detail. Guys — it’s dinner, not a hostage negotiation. Can you not?
And then the ambience… a supposed “high-end steakhouse” with a 2022 Golden State Warriors game blaring on the TV. Seriously? Am I at a titty bar or the local pub? If you’re charging ₱9,000 for a steak, at least play some jazz or classical music — something that matches the price tag. Instead, it felt like a confused sports bar cosplaying as fine dining.
Hidden charges stacked on hidden charges. Luckily I’m a man of means and laughed it off, but let’s be real — you’re basically paying for air-con and a logo. Total damage was around ₱13–14k, which we chalked up as a funny “holiday experience.”
The hard sell on overpriced booze was the cherry on top. Nothing like having to say “I don’t drink” just to get a pushy waiter to back off (when in reality, I drink like a fish).
The steak itself wasn’t a disaster — it was fine, edible, whatever. The problem was everything around it: pushy waiters, fake compliments, upsells at every turn, and a bill that outstripped the experience. If the staff were more genuine and the value less of a joke, maybe there’d be more than two couples dining here on a prime night in Boracay.
In short: if you enjoy being cat-called, hovered over, overcharged, and upsold — this is your spot. Otherwise, there are way better places on the island. Honestly, we had a far better meal at Gerry’s Grill the next day for ₱1,500 (about the price of the bottled waters we didn’t even order at Wolfgang’s 🤣).
Save your money. You don’t need to spend like this to eat well in Boracay. If you want a funny “troll” experience, by all means go — the food is...

Ambience of the place felt like a casual dining restaurant worst off than many restaurants in Boracay. Seats felt like they were not high enough for the table. It was cooler outside than inside the restaurant.
Considering they are fine dining or near to fine dining, there was no butter knife when they served bread. Butter came in 2 slices per person I thought it was meant for a kaya toast you would have in Singapore. Drinks were not served with coasters resulting in condensed water dripping everywhere.
We had a porterhouse steak (1kg), French onion soup, sides of creamed spinach and mashed potato.
Onion soup - worst I’ve ever had. The crotons were probably just left over bread, not toasted. And the more you drank, the saltier it got. We didn’t finish the soup, despite 3 of us sharing one soup that cost P888.
Porterhouse steak. Decent but definitely not the best I’ve eaten, neither did it feel it was worth the price P9,576. Didn’t feel like it was 1kg either.
Creamed spinach wasn’t creamy at all. At least none of us felt like it was creamy. It felt like a watered version of laing - dried taro leaves in coconut. Even laing would have tasted better. We did not finish it.
Mashed potatoes was probably the worst I’ve ever had in my life. Even KFC’s would have tasted better. Not smooth, not buttery, chunks of potato’s in it. Many restaurants in Boracay would have better ones.
As we were about to leave, they gave us complimentary dessert cos it was our anniversary. key lime pie was overly sweet, which came with a yellow looking vanilla ice cream as they claimed which didn’t taste vanilla at all. It had some chunks in it and it was iced out. Yes, it was complimentary but tasted bad.
My wife’s and my stomach didn’t feel good the next day.
Definitely not a restaurant worth its price tag. Overall bill was P13,000 without wine. Worth the first experience? No.
Wolfgang, If you are reading this, and you have made improvements and invite me back, let me know. If you are Boracay’s most expensive restaurant then you better be the best....
Read moreWe're all on the island every 2nd quarter for 3 months. So 6 months a year. We flew in on an invitation and visited Wolfgang's. We know there are a lot of negative reviews, but that didn't bother us beforehand, as you should form your own opinion. CONCLUSION: I can only advise everyone not to eat here and to spend their money on "a good steak" somewhere else. I've never eaten such a bad steak in my entire life. Medium-rare and tough as a shoe sole. My companions had the same thing. Out of frustration, we also ordered salmon. The salmon was so awful, and they did everything wrong that you can possibly do wrong with fish, but no wonder when they only defrost it when you order it. The fries were either so dry they choked, or the next plate was dripping with grease. The salad was inedible. Anyone can tell me what they want, but for me, 75% of the menu is S&R from Iloilo and they just try to make it up well, to sell it for a fortune. This place makes money with illusions and awfully good advertising. We complained and were told it would be forwarded and an apology issued, but here is the bill. We've been on the island for 12 years and have never eaten so badly for so much money and i know what i am talking about. We're not poor people, but that's exactly what this restaurant is looking for: people with fat wallets. There are 100+ other locations on Boracay with better meat and better chefs. The owners cheat people on quality, and if a guest doesn't like something, the employee gets pressured, even though the owner buys cheap stuff here. NO RECOMMENDATION, EVERYTHING MORE FAKE THAN REAL. This place wants your money, but doesn't want you to eat well. The free shuttle is a little lure because then you think, WOW, they're picking us up, what a great place. Mistake, the shuttle is already included in the first order for 3 other guests. If you want to be disappointed, just eat here. Service was completely flawless. It was also clean. A one-star restaurant is trying to pretend it has five. Not...
