UPDATED REVIEW 5/18/2023 - Service has improved after December. Ate many times since then. When my kids crave good food, we also order via Grab. They're now more attentive and efficient. Orders are timed and are brought out all at the same time. Their cashier staff is efficient. They bring a wireless terminal with them, so you don't have to worry about your card details. There's really nothing to change about the food. It's been consistent and delicious through the years.
REVIEW 12/11/2022- Food is fine, but we have asked for service water three times and until we asked for the bill, no water came. All other tables, even those who came after us, had drinks and water. We were never rude to the staff of this resto. We have been eating here since 2011 and have witnessed staff coming and going. Today was disappointing. No hot tea and that's understandable given the volume of people, but water? Really? Maybe because we were just a pair of diners today. Maybe they only provide good service if you are a group and you have lots to order. Tsk. Maybe if we dine here again and the experience is okay, I'll change my review.
First Review: We have been eating here at least once every single month since 2011. LOL we actually already know if staff roster is new. Food here isn't cheap but it's cooked well. Best yang chow in this...
Read moreIn the 90s, Mann Hann was the epitome of Chinese cuisine in the Philippines. Their menu was not only delectable but also affordable, making it a go-to for many foodies. However, as Mann Hann evolved into a more commercialized entity, the quality of their dishes started to diminish. They have been sacrificing quality for profit, resulting in less than satisfactory meals.
In the past, their Yang Chow fried rice was the pinnacle of flavor and ingredient-richness. It was unrivaled even by some of the best Hong Kong restaurants. But now, their Yang Chow fried rice has fewer ingredients and is nowhere near the same level of deliciousness it once had.
Another unfortunate consequence of their commercialization is the removal of some of their most beloved dishes, such as their Seafood Special. It's disheartening to see that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction and happiness.
The current generation of owners seems to have lost sight of what made Mann Hann so special in the first place. Instead of valuing their customers' happiness and loyalty, they're more concerned with maximizing their profits. It's a sad state of affairs for a restaurant that used to be the benchmark for Chinese cuisine in the...
Read moreMann Hann is consistently bustling with diners, particularly on weekends when its popularity peaks. During my visit, I decided to sample a variety of dishes, including hakaw (shrimp dumplings), Japanese dumplings, Yang Chow fried rice, soy tofu, and the standout dish, crispy Lechon Macau. The crispy Lechon Macau truly deserves accolades for its perfectly crisp skin and succulent meat, making it a must-try. However, the other dishes I ordered fell short of expectations in terms of flavor and presentation.
I found the prices to be somewhat steep considering the overall quality of the food served. Additionally, the service left much to be desired, as it was notably slow, detracting from the overall dining experience. The dining area itself features a casual setup, which adds to the relaxed vibe but doesn't compensate for the wait times. Overall, while Mann Hann has its highlights, potential diners might want to go in with tempered expectations regarding service and...
