McDonald's — Restaurant in Manila

I had previously written a positive review about this McDonald's branch after noticing some improvements, but unfortunately, my recent visit was a huge letdown. A couple of weeks ago, I praised the self-ordering kiosks for finally being operational again and how the service had significantly improved. The ordering process was much faster, and my food was prepared in a timely manner. However, this time around, it felt like all the progress made in recent weeks had been reversed.

The service was incredibly slow, and there was a noticeable lack of urgency despite the number of customers waiting at the counter. The staff seemed oddly relaxed, even though the line was growing longer, and customers were visibly frustrated. The counter staff were more interested in chatting with each other than addressing the growing queue of customers. It was really frustrating to see this happen, especially after having such a smooth experience during my last visit. The self-ordering kiosks were working fine, but the slow service and unmotivated staff completely ruined the experience.

This is especially disappointing because I was optimistic after my last visit, where things seemed to be running smoothly. The inconsistency between my recent visits has been quite frustrating. While I do appreciate that the staff remains polite, especially during early mornings, the slow pace and lack of attentiveness on this visit left much to be desired. It’s hard to justify waiting in line for so long when there doesn’t seem to be any sense of urgency from the team.

I really hope this branch can get back on track and improve its service. It’s clear that the location has potential and has been making efforts to improve, but the slow service and inattentiveness need serious attention. This was my first and will also be my final visit to that branch. Upon arrival, I noticed the place was disorganized and looked unclean, which I initially assumed was due to an ongoing renovation. However, my patience was worn out as I waited an excessive amount of time for my order of only a hotcake and hot drink. The staffs appeared disengaged and lacked enthusiasm for their work as customers increased they yet to even do their jobs properly. As even one of the staffs ignored my simple request for a cup of water and just stared at me. She continued what she was doing as if I wasn't in front of her. It may not be perfect, but this McDonald’s branch has always been a favorite of mine—especially for breakfast. I’ve spent many mornings here, and I truly appreciate the kind and accommodating staff. They always handle my order specifications with patience and care, which makes a big difference.

The recent renovation also improved the overall dining experience. The store now looks more modern and inviting, making it a more comfortable place to sit and enjoy a meal.
