Tapa King Taft Avenue — Restaurant in Manila

I ordered a Tapa King and Garlic Kankong for a side dish. The Tapa King arrived quickly, but for some reason, the Garlic Kangkong was very delayed. I had to follow it up with the servers, who just passed by my table without acknowledging the fact I still had a number indicating a pending order. Had I choosen to eat the Tapa King immediately instead of waiting, that side dish would've ended being a dessert.

When I did follow up, that was when I noticed one of their cooks starting cooking kangkong (their kitchen had a window making it visible to the dining area). Not 5 minutes later, my pending side dish arrived, served by the same guy that brought me my Tapa King. And he didn't even bother to say sorry for the long wait. Talk about lousy customer service.

By the way, for how fast the kangkong got cooked, it wasn't crisp. Rather it was wilted. It also had no flavor save for the bits of garlic, considering it was...

It made sense to order the "Tapa King" first. It's a no frills dish that is meant to be enjoyed with vinegar. To those that haven't been here yet, they actually have a "Tapa Queen", the sweet and spicy version. I'm happy they give a lot of rice! It's the least they could do considering the price range of their tapa.

Beef Bulalo is on the top of my list for being tasty as expected. It's deadly goodness, yes, and they still give so much meat. I'm happy the quantity is consistent!

Boneless Bangus seems to already have a vinegar flavor added to it. You only get half a milk fish but the quantity is just right.

Smoked Bangus has the most value for me so far. You get a whole milk fish nearly boneless with crispy scales, which I ate completely. There was so much fish meat that it can actually serve 2 people. The ambiance of the place is okay, there are flies roaming around but it’s fine. The food is okay, typical tapsilog taste. The food serving amount is okay.
