I am writing to share my disappointment with the service my companion and I experienced during our recent visit to your Malate branch. I believe this feedback is important for both your management and future diners to understand, as it reflects the inconsistency in how guests are treated.

From the beginning, we felt as though we were judged based on appearance. Having come directly from a long day on the road, we may not have looked ideally put together, but that should never determine the quality of service provided. We were placed at the dark corner of the restaurant and I didn't really look so much into this yet.

While observing other guests, I noticed clear differences. They were greeted warmly, consistently checked on, and served with proper dining wares. In contrast, we were given plastic utensils and little attention. Even the way our food was handled was noticeably different—while others received their meals on trays, ours were simply stacked one on top of the other.

When our meal arrived, the presentation was lackluster. The first dish was placed on our table without much care, and the main dishes did not match the presentation described on the menu. My pork dish, in particular, looked more like the chicken dish that my companion had ordered. We were confused but he ate and it wasn't until late that the server clarified that it was indeed the pork dish, and there was no apology for the mix-up. Meanwhile, other tables were informed of their dishes as they were served, highlighting the inconsistency.

The food itself was decent, but not worth the high price, especially given the level of service we received. It was around 11 p.m.

What troubled me most was being unable to speak to someone in authority to address my concern. This lack of courtesy and disregard was disheartening, especially since the restaurant was not particularly busy at the time.

As a fine dining establishment, I believe Umi Matsu should pride itself on providing equal, exceptional service to all guests, regardless of appearance, payment method, or circumstance.

For reference, I have dined at your Parqal branch under similar conditions and was treated with much more professionalism and respect.

In conclusion, the service did not reflect the standards I expected from a fine dining establishment. I hope that management takes this feedback to heart to ensure a consistent and respectful experience...

We messaged them via text to make a reservation, and they catered to our request. They serve a wide range of japanese food from sushi, udon, katsu, yakitori, and even alcoholic beverages. Their set meals are the true value for money because aside from the main, you get rice, miso soup, chawanmushi (egg custard), mashed sweet potato, and some pickled vegetables. Notable dishes that we got are the following: · Inari Sushi Set (4/5) - they have a 50% off promo for these and got all the flavors. It's pretty huge, and I liked most of the flavors, except for the Japchae Inari. · Gyuniku Curry (4/5) - this is served on-top of rice. It was good, but the curry flavor is lacking for my personal taste. The gyuniku/beef "strips" are really tender and easy to chew. · Hamburger Set (2/5) - Hamburger steak with sauce served with sunny-side egg and rice. It's not juicy and doesn't really taste like a beef patty.

The "service water" that they serve is Wilkins bottled water, which is reassuring for those with sensitive tummies. They have separate men and women's restrooms with their own sink and bidet, though the sink in the women's wasn't working when we visited. They have limited street parking (2/3 slots only). They accept credit...

At Umi Matsu, you're in for a treat that goes beyond just a meal—it's an experience that transports you to the heart of Japan. From the moment you step inside, the cozy yet elegant atmosphere sets the stage for a culinary journey you won't forget.

Their menu is a delightful showcase of authentic Japanese dishes, each one carefully crafted with the finest ingredients and traditional techniques. But what really steals the show is their inari sushi. Imagine tender tofu pockets filled with sweet, seasoned rice—it's a flavor explosion that's as comforting as it is delicious.

What makes Umi Matsu stand out is not only the incredible food but also the generous portions. You won't leave hungry, that's for sure! Whether you're dining solo or sharing with friends, there's plenty to go around.

And it's not just about the food; it's the whole experience. The friendly staff and peaceful ambiance create a welcoming atmosphere where you can truly relax and enjoy your meal.

In summary, if you're looking for an authentic taste of Japan in the metro and some seriously good inari sushi, Umi Matsu is the place to be. It's a culinary adventure definitely you won't...

Fiod was worth the price. My friends and I enjoyed the food. We were full after we were done with the food. Didn't take a picture of the set meal but it also looked worth the price. Set meal composed of 3 sides I think. Inari (Tofu pockets) were huge but really good. Chicken was also good. Not just breadings really chicken. Chahan rice was also very good not oily and really satisfying. Order the rainbow roll very refreshing because of the fresh fish and it was also stuffed so much. Korokke i think is fried potato with mixed things inside I'm not sure. 😅 but was really good, since it's fried and with potato I though it would be heavy but surprising the outside was crispy and very light. Rice tea was also good, it was refreshing after the heavy meal. 😊 Service was also good. Our server was also good at explaining the food and also recommending their best sellers 👍👍 Atmosphere/ambiance is very cool and there are also alcoholic drinks so it also has a good chill vibes for drinking. Surely, we would come back here again.
