Had their Chirashi and Gyoza. For the chirashi, serving size is a bit small. Taste is ok, not great though. What I noticed immediately is the size of the grain of the sushi rice, a bit on the bigger size and it doesn't have the "zing" of sushi vinegar. They also don't put slices of hamachi and chutoro compared to T*nabe. Their unagi though is pretty nice. Still felt a bit hungry, ordered the Gyoza. Nice thin skin so you taste the filling more. Filling is juicy and the porky taste is light which I prefer. Staff are very attentive and polite. Very clean and spotless. Worth a visit.
This is a continuation of my review. Returned to try their curry soba lunch set menu also ordered their 3 kinds sushi plate. The curry soba set is plentiful. It has veggies, potato salad, diced tuna over rice, chawanmushi and the udon itself. Curry is not too soupy or too thick, consistency is just right. It has potatoes, carrots, beef and pork slices.Soba is chewy and bouncy. Diced tuna over rice is ok. Tuna is fresh, however I believe they used ordinary steamed rice for this. Chawanmushi is also good, nice eggy taste, bouncy and smooth. A bit wattery at the bottom maybe because it sat for while. As for the sushi platter, it has tuna, salmon and hamachi. Slices are nice and thick, no funkiness in taste and very fresh. Salmon and hamachi are fatty. Dish is presented really well as the photo shows, it even has some wakami (kelp) on the side. Both dishes are well worth the money. 5 stars for the lunch set. Lastly, they have japanese chefs inside the cooking/frying area and sushi bar which I believe helps maintain food authenticity, quality and...
Read moreFirst time to try out this restaurant and was not disappointed! Parking was not difficult when we arrived, but I assume that it's difficult to find parking at other times of the day since it's only street parking. Kuya guard was helpful and assisted us in parking, just let him know that you're going to dine! From the getgo, staff was very accomodating and very courteous. Once sat down, we were approached by a staff and was offered of what we assume as fresh and limited ingredients they have for the week. We ordered the Nama Maguro which consists of 3 kinds of tuna sashimi (ootoro, akami, chutoro), Wagyu Sukiyaki, and the Una Gyu. Everything tastes fresh and cooked perfectly! You have the option to cook the sukiyaki yourself, but we had the staff cook the sukiyaki for us. The menu says that the sukiyaki was only good for 1, but we found that it can be good for 2 people for that amount of food. I think the only negative I can say is that the rice for the Una Gyu lacks that distinct taste of japanese rice.
Overall, our experience is great and would definitely come back here again to try other stuff...
Read moremy new favorite japanese resto😍 surprised to find this gem right at the heart of Malate. the dishes we ordered and ate were as authentic as japanese cuisine can get. the quality and taste are at par if not better than tanabe's. did i forget to mention that the place was squeaky clean? a definite plus for me .there were two standby food servers at the side making sure that all our needs are immediately attended to. the food servers are trained well and highly professional at their job. I called up for our reservation and when we arrived outside the restaurant, I was completely taken by surprised because the security attendant was obviously advised of our arrival since he was already waiting to guide us on where to park . remedios st. where it is located is under construction but worth the little trouble.
please go and try this superb resto!👏👏👏
I can't wait to go back to try their other dishes😊
congratulations and keep it...
