This establishment violates the Price Tag Law. The menu prices do not include the VAT built-in.

When I asked the waiters about this, they said that VAT will be charged on top of the menu price. I asked to speak to a manager and the manager said she does not know anything about the taxes, laws, etc. She said she will call their accounting manager from their restaurant in the area to further address my concerns.

15 minutes have passed and no one has given an update with regards to our concern. Their restaurant manager, who said she will call the accounting manager for us, walked by our area three times and did not even bother to make eye contact with our table or to check if the accounting manager had come.

Eventually, one of the waiters came by our table to let us know that they cannot locate the accounting manager.

We decided to pay for the orders that were served (and take it out) and to scrutinize the receipt issued-- which in fact violated the Price Tag Law. Their accounting manager eventually came and said she is aware that their menu does violate the Price Tag Law. I asked why they haven't fixed the menu. The accounting manager said they are working on it. However, she further adds that their billing system is not illegal since the POS cash register and receipts were approved by the BIR.

Upon checking the reviews on Google, a reviewer pointed this out a year ago. (search "price tag" under the reviews of this restaurant.

This is not an issue of paying an extra 600 pesos of taxes on top of my bill. Because I would gladly tip that amount especially if the service is extraordinary. But this is a matter of principle in following the laws. And I refuse to patronize an establishment that is being deceitful to its customers.

Imagine dining in a restaurant only to find out you have to pay an extra 12% because you thought the menu price already had tax (because that is the law in the Philippines). You end up getting surprised when you get the bill because you didn't see the fine print in time. Or in our case, we saw good food reviews of this restaurant. But when we saw the fine print on their menu pages after we ordered, this restaurant left a very sour taste in our mouths.

Update Mar. 30, 2022: I came back for more. This time I ordered the Tuna Sashimi, Ebi Tempura, Calamansi Juice, and Vanilla Ice Cream. The Tempura's batter wasn't as light and crispy as the one in Trinity Ihaw-Ihaw & Food House (in Macapagal dampa), but it was much better than the most recent one I had in restaurant in Alabang, where I ended up removing most of it. The Tempura in Miyazaki had thicker ebi and thinner batter. Still 5 stars.

Original post Mar. 16, 2022: A great Japanese restaurant. I still prefer the ramen of the nearby Ramen Yushoken, but since that's a ramen specialty shop, if you want other Japanese fare such as sashimi, sushi, tempura, etc., I highly recommend you head over to Miyazaki. Plus, they serve beer! So it would definitely be a better option if that's the way you relax with friends.

I had the salmon sashimi and one of the ramens. Despite my earlier comment, I still think that the ramen is good as well. In fact, if you're the sort who prefers the soup style of ramen rather than the rich broth style, you might actually prefer the one here. Give it a try before you make your own judgment. Another high point for me was when I ordered a scoop of avocado ice cream for dessert. It was served in a scoop sized bowl that was put, as a sort of cover, on top of a larger bowl that contained dry ice. This kept the ice cream cold for longer, and added the novelty of a swirling cloud effect.

Prices are above what's typical for the average restaurant. You'd probably be upper middle class to dine here regularly, or someone celebrating a special occasion. The ambience is bright and airy, and the service is amazing. Despite the fact that the place was jampacked, the staff were very attentive. I'll definitely be coming back for more. Hopefully, I won't be downgrading my rating after I try their...

one of the worst dinning experiences we had in this restaurant. They make us wait for our food for about 2 hrs then every food served there is a 30min interval so one of our friends are done eating then they will serve food for our friend then another 30mins for my gf and the server said “seserve na din po yung isa pa po tori katsu” then my my food didnt arrived at all fyi that 3 of us have the same orders. Then my gf suggested to share her food to me because Im already starving so we shared the tori katsu. We tried to follow up our order and the ate server said “na informed ba kayo na matagal ang serving!“ Ate we been here for 1 and half hours waiting for our food and instead of apologizing for the lack of service you have. your gonna give us an attitude like that. Then we tried to cancel my food and get the bill then we over heard “serve niyo na nga tori katsu niya” then the bill arrived then still they still put 2 tori katsu in the bill then sabi ko kay ate “ate sabi namin cancel na to tori katsu di naman dumating sa amin” then we waited na naman for the bill for about 20mins so I just went straight to the cashier na lang to pay then suddenly my tori katsu arrived but “sabi ko diba ate cancel na yan”. 2nd time around dinning with this restaurant both of them having my worst experience of dinning in...

The Japanese restaurant is located inside the Molito Lifestyle Center in Alabang. Since the place is located in a complex the parking around Miyazaki is on a first come first served basis. A multilevel parking facility is also available. Fortunately during our visit (Saturday lunch), a parking spot in front was vacant (yay!). My friend who came in ahead of the group (we were 10) was able to get one of the rooms on the second floor. In the tatami rooms, the seating style was horigotatsu (low table and has a recessed floor under so diners can stretch out their legs). For Filipinos not used to seating horigotatsu style, it was so difficult getting in (hahaha). We had all decided to just use the toilets when we were ready to leave. Anyway, we had fun ordering food: the menu was almost an inch thick, with all available food choices presented with a picture. The waiter was very attentive, patient and was very friendly. Good job, kuya! Food was served quickly to feed our hungry tummies. Food was delicious. All food in the menu: all highly recommended. Actually, too many to choose and try. Deserves another visit. Overall: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Come in early because they do not accept reservations.
