I had high hopes for this place, but was disappointed. I will give it another shot, but my experience today was just bleh.
The ATMOSPHERE was nice enough, and being here on a weekday afternoon, I did expect it to be calm. Better than a lot of places but nothing that stands out. Pretty much your basic beer bar.
SERVICE was also pretty typical of the Philippines. Take your order, bring your food, then ignore you unless you call them over, paying more attention to their phones than guests. I know that’s normal here, but having worked in restaurants most of my life, I just have higher standards. The server that we closed out with was a better, as he did listen to my criticisms, offered us dessert (which we declined), and brought us a few more small tastes of a couple other beers
BEER & FOOD They have a great selection of beers, which is the reason we came after all. Ordered a flight, the tropical twisted lager was pretty bad and tasted like flat Red Horse (I drink a lot of RH). This may have been due to it pouring foaming and the bartender letting it rest in another glass before pouring it into the flight glass. The Blushing Irishman had the same problem, but it wasn’t as flat and did taste better. Hard knocks was ok, but not one I would order again. White Mamba was by far the best of the four, but still probably not one I’d want much more of. The beer also needs to be colder. It was cool, but definitely not cold. The last server brought me two more small tastes, both of which were much better than any of the four, the triple IPA and the Quirky Pilsner. So overall the beer was about a 2, but there is a large selection and I will try a few more another day.
As for the FOOD, we only ordered the fish and chips, more as a snack than a meal just to go along with the beer. I have never tasted anything with such little flavor. The only taste was oil. It is one big piece of fish, and by the color alone you could tell it wasn’t fried enough, but the fish itself was a bit overcooked. I’m guessing the oil wasn’t hot enough. The batter was a soggy white-ish brown rather than golden. No flavor at all except for the taste of oil, not even salt, and undercooked and doughy on the inside. I hoped the tartar sauce would at least help, but it was basically just mayo, no capers, no onions, no tang whatsoever. The fries looked good, but were about the same, soggy, mushy, and no salt or seasoning of any kind. My wife picked the breading off of the fish and used ketchup on everything to give it flavor. I chose Tabasco to attempt to give it flavor. For the 700 Pesos we were charged for the dish, it was not worth any of it. You’ll get better fish at any Filipino street kitchen for a hell of a lot less money.
There are a few things on the menu that I might be willing to try, but definitely stay away from anything fried. I’m drawn to the beer, so I’ll give it one more shot. I get tired of drinking Red Horse everyday and hope to find a couple beers on their menu that I like.
PS: My wife doesn’t drink beer, but she did have a margarita and she did say that was good.

Read moreI stopped there for my 3rd time this year. A Saturday. Please do a new menu this one is geyting old. And we just had apps this time. Sorry, too, over fried. Not good inion rings. What's happened there? Sad, really. My wife did not like the long island ice tea. So all in all, not the best. It probably will be our last time, unless the menu changes. Take care. But hey, the beer is still good.
Look at the onion rings. Way to dark and greasy. Over cooked.
It's about time!!!! Finally, someone knows how to run a bar/restaurant!! I was so happy to stumble into this place. I ended up loving it. The friendly staff *I sat at the bar were fantastic. Friendly, personable, and fun. Which is the way it is supposed to be! Personality !!!!! The food was crazy good. Thank God I live 40 minutes away because otherwise, I'd be there every day. See you again, my newfound "hang out"! We ate the onion rings, smoked fish triangles, and poutine. Washed it all down with 2 craft beers and a mojito. The craft beers were fantastic. From 4.4%apv to 10%apv. Fantastic. Probably 25 beers on tap. The mixed drinks were very well done. Sitting at the bar made me feel at home back in the USA. BEST BAR IN THE...
Read moreStopped here to sample some local craft beers while staying at a hotel about a 10 minute walk away. Ended up choosing this place based on a recommendation from a waitress at another restaurant.
The atmosphere and decor were great, with a very modern and date I say American craft brewery feel. The best selection was impressive, all brewed in house (see pictures).
As I usually do, I ordered a flight to sample several of their beers and referenced Untappd for those with the best rating. While these beers are likely adjusted to the local taste palettes, when comparing them to the numerous breweries I've been to in the United States I wasn't able to rate any of the beers I tried much above average. I found them to be relatively bland in comparison.
It is still a great venue and one you will likely enjoy if you are looking for a fun atmosphere with a large selection of...
