Café Society - City of Dreams Manila — Restaurant in Parañaque

Went here after a nice chinese meal for our usual coffee. We are a company of three. As we sit at the big thronelike chair as before(as this is our favorite spot) , we were quickly told by the staff that this table is reserved and she quickly left us without even apologizing or ushering us to another table. Mind you, aside from a customer ordering on the counter i dont recall any other customer in the whole cafe. So i went to the counter and asked if both tables are reserved. It was only then that the staff smiled and explained that they are reserving both big tables for big groups! Frankly speaking, it's not like the place is full and there's no other extra table that could accomodate a big group! Secondly, we feel unwelcomed by the way we were greeted. So we decided to have our coffee somewhere we feel welcomed. Great ambiance of place DOES NOT supercede good service! So...

Worthy of 5 star for their pastries and service. I have read some of the negative reviews about the service and for me, not really fair since the staff is accomodating once you connect with them. They will not hover and be at your beck & call if you are divas and kings for they will respect your space, time and will let you feast your eyes on their grand displays. But once you engage, they are very friendly and accomodating. Everytime we stay in COD, this is are staple place to get baked goodies. Pricey because they will give you a run for it. The best pastries for me so far. Please let us stop expecting staff to drool...

THE BEST mocha I've ever had. Perfect drinking temperature and it was not too sweet. Very clean venue and gorgeous chocolates, but the staff seemed a bit clueless. They did just open and maybe they were training... Everyone just seemed slow and didn't know what to do or have information about the menu. Again, best mocha and I didn't get a tummy ache after the drink. They must clean their coffee machine regularly.
