We had an early dinner yesterday coming from the Big Bad Wolf sale. We were asked if we'll be ordering drinks. As we are not soda drinkers, we declined and requested for water instead. This lady said in a condescending tone "Tap water lang ho ibibigay namen sa inyo, ok lang ba yun?" Like we were making a big mistake not to order any drinks. Mind you, they have service tea but never bothered to offer us any. The final incident that bothered me was during payment. The two previous groups that paid via credit card was processed without any issue but when it was our turn, they were asking for IDs. Was it because the other groups have foreigners with them? Was it because we were pinoys? Was it because we were dressed casually? Im all for ensuring security BUT implement it CONSISTENTLY! NO DISCRIMINATION.
The food was not bad but not good either. We ordered the tsukemen best seller. I only managed to eat half considering im hungry from all the shopping. The ajitsuke tamago (ramen egg) is a masquerading hard boiled egg. The spicy tuna sashimi came in a small bowl with few, paltry pieces of tuna chunks drowned by a whole lot of crunchy extenders. Chicken karaage was minutes away from being burned. The 5 small pcs looked very sad. The serving of the chicken black pepper don leaves much to be desired.
Not value for money with a discriminatory staff. Better find somewhere...
Read moreStill the best place for me to have Tsukemen. Giving a 5 star mainly because it's uniquely focused on Tsukemen but they have other items on the menu.
Really love the Double Cheese Tsukemen. But if you something a little different get the Tantanmen Tsukemen and order Double Cheese topping as an extra, it takes the Tantanmen to a other level. And if you order Gyoza, don't discard the Gyoza sauce because you can also dip your cheesy noodle in the sauce before dipping again in the broth which gives a unique flavor.
Service was good, although the Black Pepper Chicken Rice Bowl took quite some time to come out.
Other orders are definitely the Tempura and Gyoza. Pretty standard orders for Japanese restaurants. The Black Pepper Chicken is also a must try. I'm actually kind of sad that it's only available for Rice Bowls and not as a side dish, but still must try. The wonton isn't the best but it's not bad. I think it's still pretty good. I do remember them having a drink that had basil seeds that I used to love but sadly also not there anymore.
Overall still a good place to eat mainly for Tsukemen. They do have ramen but I can say that you don't got there for Ramen. We also tried the Yuzu Maze Soba, it was fine for me wished it had more Yuzu flavor...
Read moreComment: Due to popular demand and good reviews around the net we tried the restaurant. We expected to have a good dinner here after work , however, when we went here they mentioned there are no free service water. You need to buy their 500ml - 40 pesos bottled water. The only free drink is their tea.(Tea cannot quench our thirst!) For the time we were eating the food, we can't seem to ignore yung uhaw namin. We end up buying one bottled water, then, take out the food that we have ordered, nakaka 1/4 palang kami ng kain (Nakakaumay na walang tubig na pangbalance) It is very annoying why this restaurant does not offer a service water, given the weather is so hot nowadays. This is the first Japanese resto that we have encountered that don't give free water to customers. Imagine the water in the plastic bottle that you sell, will be added to the pollution all over the world. I will never be back on this restaurant. This would be the first and last time here.
Staff were polite
Food - Nothing special. I still prefer Ramen Nagi or Bari Uma. Their ramen is unique for a Japanese ramen because it looks like a "Lomi"...
